  • Annie Lennox 2017 | The Diva Series
The original Annie Lennox Diva Series was released in May of 2009. She was one of my earliest inductees. As a personal preference as an artist, vocalist, and performer, her music has gotten me through some of the darkest moments in my life.

Since the original set is missing several favorites, I felt it was time to go back and revisit Ms. Lennox. There have been several fantastic bootlegs that have since come out honoring her work as a solo singer and as part of the 80's duo Eurythmics. I couldn't use everything I wanted and had to leave off fan favorites like the Gabriel & Dresden remix of Pavement Cracks and the Thunderpuss remix of 17 Again.

While the original remix package for Pavement Cracks was stellar in its own right,  I went with the Shanghai Surprise version this go around and found a fantastic bootleg of 17 Again that flows better than the Thunderpuss or Peter Rauhofer remixes.

I also found a brilliant bootleg of No More I Love You's that captures the beauty of the original. No offense to Junior Vasquez, but his official remixes for the song were offensive, way off, and frankly a hot mess. When Junior is hot, he's fucking brilliant but other times, he's all over the fucking map as in this case.

There were also several stellar bootlegs for one of my all-time favorite songs Why. However, I decided to take the safer route and went with a 90's inspired version that retains the essence of the original set to P.M. Dawn beat.

All of the songs have been remastered to brighten them up while keeping the peaks at a constant, which in this case was necessary considering the age of the songs and in several instances, the sources.

It's with great honor and respect that Party Favorz re-inducts the fabulous Ms. Annie Lennox into the Diva Hall of Fame once again. Enjoy!

This podcast has been re-EQ'd to remove extreme highs and hisses in the original release. If you have the original release and it sounds fine to you, then there is no need to re-download this version as they are the same except for the equalization.

  • Sade | The Diva Series
Surprise! After it was brought to my attention that the David Morales remix of 'Shelter' (which heavily samples 'I Never Thought') featured in volume 3 of the Legacy series was virtually non-existent, I decided to dive deeper into my collection of Sade remixes and then went on a hunt to see what all was out there. As it turns out, there are a multitude of fans (as myself) and a boatload of bootlegs to accompany the fervor surrounding this band and its beguiling lead singer. This attests to the worldwide fanaticism at the heart of a group that hasn't released a new studio album since 2010.

I am banking that there is a multitude of you who are Sade fans as well. As such, I decided she/the band have earned a rightful place in the Diva Hall of Fame. Having sold 75 million albums worldwide and with legions of fans, I present to you Sade, the Diva Series.

  • David Morales Legacy Volume 4
We have finally reached the end of our tribute to one of the most prolific and unquestioned godfathers of house music. David Morales Legacy pt. 4 picks up where the others left off and throws in several obscure remixes like Janet Jackson's 'When I Think Of You', Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and First Choice's 'Love Thang'. It also includes some very early remixes that were the tipping point of 80s House Music, which later evolved into 90s House Music. Songs like Jody Watley's 'I'm the One You Need' and Lisa Fischer's 'Save Me' encapsulate that 80s vibe in transition.

You may have noticed that throughout all four volumes, the songs have been heavily edited. Party Favorz took a scalpel and cut these monstrous epics into finely crafted tunes that capture the overall feel while keeping the vibe intact. There was one exception; 'There Must Be Love' by Janice Robinson was so complicated in its structure, that it was impossible to maintain a good flow without losing a lot of the essence of the original, so I left it in its full near 10-minute glory.

I hope everyone has been enjoying this trip down memory lane that honors David Morales in all his glory. I'm going to be sitting back and jamming to pt. 3 shortly, taking in his amazing accomplishments as an artist.

I'll likely come back with a BackSpin series and a Funky Disco House set in the near future. Until then...ENJOY!

  • David Morales Legacy Volume 3
This is David Morales Legacy pt. 3, which delves more into the type of house music he's known for. Of course, I included Mariah Carey's 'My All' which is epic in every way possible, and a remix that I NEVER even knew existed!

As ya'll know, I am a HUGE Kristine W fan, and how it escaped me after all of these years that there was a David Morales remix of 'One More Try' is beyond me. I have everything she's ever done. How this slipped underneath my radar is beyond me because it was never included on any of the maxis for the single that I had. As you can imagine, discovering this gem was like having sex for the first time. I wonder what else is out there that I don't know about? The same goes with Sade's 'Shelter', which is a sweet soulful sampling of 'I Never Thought'.

Anyway, it turns out there's going to be a fourth installment, which will round out the full Legacy tribute. I kinda just went with the flow and it lead me to the point of justifying the fourth set. That will be released shortly.

That's all I got for now. Hope you house-heads are eating this up. Until later today...ENJOY!

The was an issue with the intro and outro to 'My All' that has been corrected. The file has been updated.

  • David Morales Legacy Volume 2
David Morales Legacy pt. 2 delves into the more commercial aspects of his career. Many of these songs were wildly successful not just in the clubs but on Top 40 radio as well. The songs stay true to his style but showcase a more diverse side with heavy influences in the Urban and Latin musical landscape at the time. No doubt, a lot of the songs here will bring back some fond memories. Enjoy!

  • David Morales Legacy Volume 1
David Morales (born August 21, 1961) is an internationally acclaimed Grammy Award-winning American house music DJ and record producer. In addition to his production and DJ work, Morales is one of the most prolific remixers of all time, transforming many pop music songs into club-friendly dance tracks. Born in New York City, he is of Puerto Rican ancestry.[1]

That's the jest of what you get when you visit his Wikipedia page. To everyone else, David Morales is a prophet; a truly gifted DJ who was sent from the heavens to save the dancefloor. Along with his brethren Frankie Knuckles, Shep Pettibone, Todd Terry, Eric Kupper, MAW, and, down the line, he's considered one of the godfathers of House Music. In short, he owns this space.

David Morales first came on my radar in 1991 with his re-work of the Shawn Christopher classic 'Another Sleepless Night' and from there, I had become one of his legions of followers. It's apropos that I kick off this three-set tribute to his work with that song. By no means is this series meant to be comprehensive but rather a good starting point for some of the countless memories he's provided us through today.

It is with much honor and a HUGE heaping of R-E-S-P-E-C-T, that Party Favorz honors the man and legend, DJ David Morales. Enjoy!

  • Sia | The Diva Series [Updated]
Sia has been on my shortlist for a long time as a Diva Hall of Fame inductee. The problem as I always saw it was putting together all of the songs from an extensive career that goes back to the late '90s that were in a variety of genres and BPMs. After all, it wasn't until the middle part of the millennium that critics and folks began to take notice of this brilliant singer/songwriter.

I was introduced to her by an old friend Leann about 9 years ago when her album Some People Have Real Problems dropped. From there, I dug into her past catalog all the while her star began to shine more brightly and people began to take notice.

Since that time, she'd written or collaborated on massive singles like Diamonds by Rihanna, Titanium with David Guetta, and Wild Ones with Flo Rida and has had a string of successful singles in her own right. There is no denying her talent and frankly, Sia is one of Party Favorz all-time favorite DIVAS along with P!nk and Robyn. In short, I adore this woman.

It's for these reasons and more that Sia rightfully takes her place amongst the leading ladies in the Diva Hall of Fame. With much admiration and respect, ladies and gentlemen please welcome the very talented Sia!

  • MADONNA Birthday Celebration 2017 | The Diva Series
It's time to C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E the birthday of the most enduring ICON of the past 30 years...MADONNA!

As usual, I gather up the best of the best bootlegs of her work that have been re-imagined for today's dance floors.

Each year after posting a new podcast, I set up a Madonna folder where I throw in any new bootleg I come across. Typically, it builds up over that year and I use it as a basis for the next set. Frankly, the mixes are beginning to become a bit thin; especially after the demise of Legitmix but somehow, I still manage, even without new releases from the Material Girl.

There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Party Favorz. After 10 years, it may be time to wind things down. I'm currently wrapping up a website redesign for a client and will start a 3-week trial course for admittance into coding bootcamp. If all goes well (and I have no reason to believe that it won't), I'll be up to my eyeballs in learning code for 4 months. I may even start a separate blog about my experience since I'll be coming at it from a different perspective than what's out there now. I haven't decided yet.

For now, I plan to keep the site open. Those that have followed me since day one know that I am apt to throw my hands up in frustration one minute and then mysteriously reappear a year later. Take that for what it is but I learned a long time ago to never say NEVER.

For now, get up off your ass and DANCE. It's MADONNA-TIME BITCHES! ENJOY!!!

  • Beyoncé 3.0 | The DIVA Series
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born September 4, 1981, in Houston, TX. She rose to fame in the early 90s as a member of the all-girl group (who deserve their own induction into the prestigious Diva Hall of Fame) Destiny's Child. The four ladies of this group were whittled down to three with accusatory fingers pointing in all directions (see the movie re-make of Dreamgirls in which Beyoncé starred and then revisit the story behind Diana Ross & the Supremes for a clearer picture).

Originally managed by Matthew Knowles (her father), Beyoncé was featured front and center positioning her to be the breakout star of the remaining trio. Beyoncé released her debut album Dangerously in Love in 2003 which spawned two number-one singles (Crazy In Love and Baby Boy) and earned her numerous awards. Destiny's Child officially disbanded in 2006 and the rest...is history.

Today, Beyoncé is a household name and worldwide superstar. She is a strong black woman who controls every aspect of her career; including her image and her personal life. Party Favorz adores her because she is FIERCE!

It's with love, respect, and total admiration that she be honored with her third induction into the Diva Hall of Fame. Ladies and gentlemen, please stand up for Beyoncé... Mrs. Carter if you're nasty.

  • Rihanna 2.0 | The DIVA Series
You had to know this was going to happen LOL. This set was more difficult than most to put together so I made different versions and posted version 2 not, the final version. That's now been corrected. The changes are pretty significant with new additions and updated versions of older songs that sound pretty dated from their original release. If you're a fan of Rihanna, I would highly recommend grabbing this version because the original set is still available on the website and can be found here.

Robin Rihanna Fenty is a Barbadian-born singer, songwriter, and actress who was signed to Def Jam Recordings by Jay Z. How she was acle to secure an audition for him is glossed over on her Wiki page (since that just doesn't happen) but she the single best decision Jay Z made while heading the label.

With the release of her first two albums ('Music of the Sun' and 'A Girl Like Me') her star was on the rise with popular hits like 'Pon de Replay' and 'SOS'.

By the time her third album 'Girl Gone Bad' was released, she had not only taken creative control of her music but thrust herself into the pop stratosphere as a sex symbol with the release of the first single 'Umbrella' (a song notoriously passed over by Mary J. Blige and Britney Spears depending on what story you believe).

Since then, Rihanna has sold over 230 million albums worldwide making her one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Here at Party Favorz, we just love her because of the constant stylistic makeovers and frankly, she's absolutely FABULOUS!

It's been a while since she was originally inducted into the DIVA Hall of Fame, and with the release of 'Anti' last year (the gift that keeps on giving), it was time to refresh her original induction.

Ladies and gentlemen, once again please welcome  ...Miss Rihanna!
