Power Metal Resources PLC (AIM:POW, OTCQB:POWMD) CEO Sean Wade discusses an initial £2 million investment by ACAM LP with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion.

Wade explained that ACAM, a significant global natural resource investor, has expressed keen interest in the uranium sector.

The transaction also involves a non-binding term sheet to form a joint venture (JV) including Power Metal's entire portfolio of uranium licenses. The potential investment could extend to £10 million, enabling substantial exploration funding.

Wade said the joint venture is preferable to an IPO of the company's uranium assets because it crystallises more value for shareholders and provides essential cash for exploration.

The JV valuation is structured to value the portfolio at £20 million post-money, with a 50-50 split initially. ACAM aims for a 70% stake, which will involve an additional £4 million milestone payment to Power Metal.

Wade highlighted the importance of this deal in demonstrating the value of their assets and improving shareholder returns. The next steps involve an eight-week exclusive period to finalise the transaction and begin the exploration program.

Caledonia Mining Corporation chief executive Mark Learmonth joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with an update on the company's Bilboes gold project in Zimbabwe.

Acquired in January 2023, the Bilboes assets have been under evaluation for the most effective commercialization strategy. The company has decided on a single-step development approach, projected to achieve an average annual production of 150,000 ounces of gold, peaking at nearly 200,000 ounces initially. This method offers the best increase in net present value (NPV) per share, estimated at over $300 million at a gold price of $1,884 and a 10% discount rate.

The single-phase approach requires peak funding of approximately $300 million, which coincidentally matches the NPV. Alternative phased approaches were deemed less favourable due to higher relative costs and reduced debt funding capacity. Learmonth emphasized the project's significant potential, noting that higher gold prices and lower discount rates could increase the project's value to nearly $1 billion.

The next steps include upgrading the current work to a feasibility study, with particular focus on the tailings facility, the largest capital expenditure component. This process, leveraging experience from the Blanket mine, aims to optimise costs through modular construction. Additionally, the company has engaged an advisor to explore debt financing options. These parallel processes are expected to continue into early next year, with feasibility studies and financing efforts progressing concurrently.

In the City this morning, blue chips have traded higher, with strong rises from Primark owner AB Foods.

It comes after Inditex, the Spanish owner of fellow fashion chain Zara, posted both revenues and profits in line with guidance, with sales rising 7% year-on-year.

British Gas owner Centrica shares dipped despite reiterating that profits will remain in line with expectations.

Much of the share price slide was likely driven by its claims that this year’s performance would feature against a “more normalised” backdrop, indicating that gas prices have retreated from the highs following the Ukraine invasion.

B&M, the discount retailer, saw its shares tumble too after it failed to provide any forward-looking guidance or updates on current trading.

Analysts labelled the update “curious” and while there were claims of volume growth, the experts said mentions of like-for-like volume “appeared elusive”.

Meanwhile, Asda was found to be the most expensive supermarket fuel retailer, selling a litre of petrol for an average of 2.1p more than Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.

Anson Resources Limited (ASX: ASN) executive chairman Bruce Richardson sits down with Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss the identification of high-grade gallium and barium mineralisation in conjunction with zinc, lead, copper and silver from historic drilling programs. The findings were identified through a review of records from historic lead mining in the area. The Mary Springs exploration program did not assay for indium or germanium, which have since been discovered at the Surprise and Ethel Maude prospects.

The WACHEM dataset from the Government of Western Australia indicated gallium and barium assays across the Ajana Project area, corroborating drilling results that suggest numerous critical mineral deposits. Recent drilling programs by Anson have returned high-grade zinc, lead and silver values along with significant gallium, indium and germanium. Notably, gallium was found in all 26 drilled holes, with a concentration of up to 34.4 g/t.

Additionally, the Chequers prospect has been identified as a third gallium-rich location. This prospect, between Mary Springs and Surprise, shows grades of 23 g/t gallium and 419 g/t barium from surface to 46 metres. The assay results suggest an extensive area of critical mineralisation, potentially over an 8-kilometre strike length.

The original VTEM geophysical survey identified several zinc-lead-silver drill targets, indicating the potential for extensive or multiple mineral pods similar to Mary Springs. These findings are being used to plan follow-up drilling programs.

Richardson, noted the significance of these discoveries for Anson's prospects without additional investment in soil geochemical test work and drilling. He emphasised the potential to develop a mine producing lead, zinc, silver, barium, gallium, germanium and indium, which are crucial for modern technologies. The company aims to further develop the Ajana Project alongside its primary focus on lithium in Utah, USA.

At a gold price of A$3,000 per ounce, the study assessed 26% of the current gold mineral resource, estimating production of 1.5 million tonnes at 1.75 g/t, yielding an undiscounted cash surplus of A$67 million. Higher gold prices of A$3,500 and A$4,000 per ounce increased the surplus to A$106 million and A$28 million respectively.

Mining operations are planned as a Stage 1 multi-pit campaign over 28 months with a strip ratio of 16:1. Pre-mining capital and start-up costs are estimated between A$2.2 million and A$3.3 million, with total funding requirements projected between A$10 million and A$15 million. The scoping study, conducted by Minecomp Pty Ltd, lays a foundation to refine material inputs and enhance project economics.

Tudor highlighted the significant potential cash generation and further upside of the Crusader-Templar deposit, noting that only 26% of the published resource was included in the study. Nexus plans to advance permitting, regulatory processes, and explore joint venture partnerships to commercialise the project.

Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) managing director Marc Ducler sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss the recently completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Kamperman Prospect within the Feysville Gold Project in Western Australia, extending the strike length to approximately 450 metres.

The 18-hole, 2,172-metre RC drill program focused on infill and extensional drilling. The program aimed to reduce line spacing to no more than 40 metres and tested an 80-metre northern and 40-metre southern extension. Results showed consistent positive gold mineralisation, with highlights including 28 metres at 1.99 g/t gold.

The successful drilling supports gold mineralisation interpretation over a 450-metre strike length, which remains open to the north. Astral is now preparing a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) for Kamperman, along with MRE updates for the Think Big deposit and Rogan Josh prospect, expected later this year. Feysville currently hosts a MRE of 3 million tonnes at 1.3 g/t gold, potentially providing satellite ore feed for the Mandilla Gold Project.

Ducler noted the efficiency of shallow RC drilling, with a slimline RC rig now in use at Rogan Josh. The new resource estimates will contribute to the broader Feysville MRE update, expected in the latter half of 2024. Regional exploration, including aircore drilling, is planned to test gold targets north of Kamperman.
