Jillian Ruch, our postulant, looks today at the beginning of Jesus' ministry. He is providing hope to us as his followers. We look deeper into Mark 1:14-20 with the knowledge that when we believe and follow Him, he is also tasking us today, in his church, to "Fish for People." Please listen with an open heart, hearing not only an instruction from Jesus, but hearing the hope that abounds by listening and following that instruction. This week, we are joined by guest preacher, Jillian Ruch, who leads us in understanding verses from the Gospel of Luke: 26-38 and 46b-55. Luke describes the pathway God asked Mary to follow when she was going to be the mother to Jesus, a pathway that God gives us for today. He asks us these three things: 1) Do not be afraid; 2) have strength in your faith; and 3) bask in God's love because he walks with us in everything we do. He is with us in the darkness and in the light. Let's lean into that love, especially now. As advent draws to a close, and we have so much to celebrate, we remember, God loves us!
