5:06 - Amy's podcast episode - #179: The Real Truth Why I Hate Video (Hint: It's My Weight)

Amy's reveals her deepest fears around video creation and why is it important to her to overcome these challenges

14:42 - Ash discusses the thin line that separates vulnerability and weakness (Acknowledging and accepting vulnerability is a sign of courage, not weakness)
18:02 - The importance of genuine authenticity and the importance of not "faking it" on stage
22:41 - Specific action steps you can take right now to overcome your fear

    Action Steps

Name the feeling e.g. "I"m feeling fear" or "I"m feeling shame" and rate it on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being intense and 1 being almost nonexistent)
Notice where in your body the emotions are manifesting itself e.g. "I"m feeling shame as a tingling sensation in my forearms" or "I"m feeling fear as a pit in my stomach"
Use your breath as an anchor and "watch'" the sensation change and eventually dissipate (It's often a good idea to take 3 deep breaths to stabilize your mind)
After the feeling has dissipated, reassess the intensity of the feeling which you assessed in step 1 (and notice if there is any change in the rating - no change is ok. The key is to notice whether or not there has been a change in the sensation/feeling )

    Common mistakes around Video Creation
Video creation isn't for the faint-hearted.

In my experience, creating useful video content has taken a combination of careful planning, good scripting and a healthy dose of courage.

Just to make sure I'm not a dribbling mess of umms and aaas (for which my editor is deeply grateful I'm sure) I have to make sure I have my thoughts clearly set out on a piece of paper.

My point is this: a good video requires a good script. And that's just the beginning!
Here are 5 common mistakes I've seen when it comes to video presentations:

Lack of Preparation: Way too many people ad-lib and think they're g...

    Alter Ego Effect Action Plan
Applying the principles of the alter ego effect can be powerful in your life and your business. There are some action steps outlined below in this section, but they aren’t a substitute for reading the book. I highly recommend getting your own copy of the book so you can hear from Todd himself.
Once you’ve done that I suggest implementing the action plan below:
    1. Decide on who your alter ego will be and why
Think about the people who‘ve inspired you most in your life. What qualities about them do you find inspiring? For instance, I find Barack Obama’s speeches to be very inspiring. I felt he stood up for what he believed in and reformed the financial and health systems in his two terms. This meant he faced a lot of criticism. But his commitment to his vision and his ability to stay focused was exactly what I found inspiring.
Who do you find inspiring? Why do you find them inspiring? Grab a pen and paper and write their names down. Write down the qualities you admire in them. What about their qualities do you relate to? Why?
    2. Reconnect with your inner child to suspend disbelief (and unlearn the self-limiting lessons that 'growing up' has taught you)
Remember when you were a young kid around the age of 7? Do you remember feeling a sense of wonder and excitement about most things in life? Do you remember feeling filled with possibility? But then as you grew into your teens and then into adulthood, that sense of possibility kinda faded away? The world told you to be realistic? Dreaming of possibility was seen to be immature and childish?
Well, I‘ve got news for you. Being childlike (not childish) is critical if you want to reach your true potential. To embrace your alter ego you need to step into your imaginary world and embrace it with so much passion that you draw that world into your...
