Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is estimated to affect as many as 15 to 20 million people worldwide. However, it remains frequently undetected, because its symptoms are often nonspecific or mistaken for more common conditions. In this discussion-based activity, leading experts on HCM get to the heart of the matter, diagnosis and treatment, as they review guideline recommendations on imaging for diagnosis and examine current and novel treatment options, including small-molecule myosin inhibitors, as a means to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
