  • The Environmental Justice Report with Jeanine Molloff
Tonight, post-election--I will discuss the deleterious effects that 'horserace reporting' or 'horserace journalism' has on elections--and on democracy itself. Though this is a show dedicated to environmental justice issues; there can be no justice if the journalism of the day cheapens itself by providing a handicapping scorecard for the high stakes rollers of the political class. While the gambling shamans such as dual sports and political commentator Nate Silver build careers off this horserace mentality; the public is simultaneously denied substantive coverage of pressing issues.
This political horserace reporting has been basically replacing that necessary substantive coverage of important issues since the 1970's and the GOP comeback featuring an entire coterie of (what is in my opinion)--liars and useful idiots, culminating in the tragic elevation of Donald Trump.  A Trump presidency could not have occurred without such horserace reporting replacing actual journalism. Please tune in.

  • EJR investigates Judge Amy Coney Barrett's dangerous ties to BIg Oil.
Judge Amy Coney Barrett has been vilified by those of us on the political left for her anti-feminist views as espoused by her lifelong membership in an ultra-fundamentalist sect of Catholicism called the People of Praise. While this is a legitimate concern; the corporate media evaded another political 'red flag' until five days ago--and that is Judge Amy's long standing, intimate family ties to Big Oil. Only Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse approached this serious conflict of interest. The history deals with Judge Amy's father. Apparently, her father was a central attorney with Royal Dutch Shell. Now, it is recognized that Judge Amy did recuse herself from cases involving Royal Dutch Shell SPECFICALLY from her bench on the 7th circuit--BUT that recusal was required by law in her home state. It should also be noted that Judge Amy did NOT recuse herself from any other cases involving the fossil fuel industry--including the American Petroleum Institute. It should be noted that her father has been a central figure in the American Petroleum Institute--a clear conflict of interest. This semantic hair splitting demonstrates a clear lack of integrity and principle on Judge Amy's part. She is far too intelligent to NOT comprehend this conlfict of interest. It is also clear that she learned her lessons well from her mentor Antonin Scalia--that the letter of the law--no matter how petty--is more important than the spirit of the law--and that is to her shame. It is this myopic view of the law that allows such technically 'legal' obscenities such as 'enhanced interrogation' aka TORTURE--to become legal.
This report will investigate Judge Amy, her ties to the fossil fuel industry, her semantic hair-splitting and how it provides legal cover for environmental corporate criminals. It will also look into the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of originalist interpretation of the Constitution.

  • PNN for October 25 (halloween week!)
Brook Hines --> I'm sick this week, which I talk about. I have a form of post-viral syndrome that's similar to what Covid long-haulers are experiencing. Essentially it's like have a "small flu" every so ofter.
In light of this mild *disability* I've got EXTRA Rick Spisak and Jeanine Molloff this week.
Rick has two amazing interviews. First one is with Patrick O'Neill of Kings Bay Ploughshares who is facing prison for his direct action work on nuclear disarmament. Then, Rick also has disability rights activist Faith Olivia Babis who brings us up-to-date on everything going on in the disability community right now. Don't miss her commentary on Pelosi's ableist response to President Trump's behavior. Spoiler! Trump's behavior is NOT a disability. He owns that.
Jeanine Molloff on The Justice Report has some HEAVY research on Covid and Trump's non-response to it.
This show went LONG and we had tech issues with audio on the live feed that I've fixed in post production. I think you'll enjoy the conversations.

  • The Environmental Justice Report with Jeanine Molloff
This week on EJR, we will be going into more detail regarding the damage done by the arbitration tool known as ISDS or the Investor Settlement Dispute regimen.  ISDS is a major feature built into bilateral and multilateral trade agreements for the past 50 years. More recently, ISDS has been used to set aside established law in areas other than tariff policies. ISDS has been called a tool of economic destruction and this week I will discuss individual cases.
