Here we go with another powerful podcast with an entrepreneur who I share similar core values with; Duke Baxter owner of Zones Sports Academy.
I met Duke through the BNI (Business Networking International) group. The BNI is a membership-based business to business networking group of people that meet once a week to connect, share and strengthen professional relationships. Karen represents bodhi every week and holds the fitness and nutrition seat in the group which means no one else can join the group in the same field.
Duke and I instantly hit it off. He is passionate about helping his athletes perform at their best not only on the field but off the field in life. Duke and his team at Zoned create leaders, which is something I can relate to and the underlying mission of project my life.

Mental Health and Self Awareness
Back again with John Mopper from Blue Print Mental Health, because last time was was good we had to do it again! John is a therapist and is the co-founder of Blue Print Mental Health which is a boutique mental health practice located in Somerville NJ.
It's amazing how life comes full circle. Back in the early 2000s, John Mopper was a General Manager for L.A. Fitness in Toms River NJ. This gym is where my trainer Nick Depalma (coach during my MTV True Life episode) and I trained for many years.
It wasn't until John walked into bodhi a few years ago asking for help with his personal fitness journey that we really got to know each other.
Obviously, there are many overlaps in our businesses. When looking to create your best quality of life, we preach the importance of mindset. Being aware and understanding your emotions is the first step in figuring out what you want and truly need to improve your life.

I am not a Republican nor a Democrat, In fact I dislike engaging in any "politics".
I just like to support down to earth people who genuinely care about the town in which I live in and the community in which we build bodhi.
When I mentioned to Mayor Brian Gallagher that I wanted to organize and promote a 5k obstacle course run through Somerville, with proceeds going to the all-volunteer rescue squad he was super excited. Mr. Gallagher then set up a meeting for us to discuss the details and invited Jason Kraska as he was a councilman and represented the Somerville Recreation Department.
Jason was born and raised in Somerville NJ and is extremely passionate about not only growing the community but supporting the longtime senior residents. In fact, one of his recent projects is organizing a Senior Prom Dance! Now that is adorable!
Selflessly offering time, knowledge, and guidance Jason helped make the first Somerville Challenge 5k a huge success! In fact, Jason was with us at 4:30a on race day setting up obstacles and picking up supplies all before he ran the race as a participant later on that morning.
I just liked the dude's energy, he's one of the good guys.
As I said earlier, I'm not into politics, so I wanted to pick Jason's brain a bit to see what exactly a councilman does and how I could help him broadcast his message.
Last week, Jason Kraska and Jennifer Pearson sat down with Karen and me last week to discuss their beliefs and love for the Somerville NJ community.
