I'm getting a second opinion at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and have some questions ready for the visit. In this episode, I learned the difference between an FDG and PSMA PET scan and found that I had the FDG PET scan.

I've been pretty down, overwhelmed, and complainy lately. It's about time I did another episode and today I got some great news I wanted to share.

Prednisone and Lupron affect bone loss and bone growth. There are things you can do which your doctor may not be talking about with you. Get sunlight and take Vitamin D supplements. Take magnesium. Make sure you're getting enough protein. Do resistance training. Walk everyday. These are some of the things that will counterbat the loss of bone density.

I got an MRI and an official diagnosis on my back. Also had a meeting with my medical oncologist that had some surprises. It's been a challenging week.

Prednisone is prescribed alongside abiraterone for those on androgen deprivation therapy in order to minimize the side effects of the abiraterone. However, Prednisone comes with its own side effects and in this episode we talk about those risks and how to mitigate them. We also go over my most recent MRI results.
