Tom's back from his long vacation, and Neil's finally back to full strength. They go to shows! They piss and moan about the upcoming election! They basically catch you up on the last month or so. On a very special episode of Punk Till I Die, Neil got the chance to interview Mark Burgess of The Chameleons before their recent Chicago show. There’s a lot of in-depth talk of Manchester in the late 70s/early 80s including Mark’s adventure to see the Sex Pistols famous 1977 Xmas gig in Huddersfield! We also talk early Chameleons gigs, Manchester venues, favorite albums, Mark’s other projects, record collecting and what’s going on with the band currently. All music by The Chameleons.
This time the PTID guys get a recap of the Rebellion experience through the eyes of their American pal Chris Pretti. Which bands were great? How are beans for breakfast? Which bucket list records did he find? There was even a little discussion about his upcoming documentary about the Green Bay punk scene. The PTID guys are once again joined by their English correspondent Chris Hodgkins. For the second year in a row, he takes them through his Rebellion experience and his favorite sets. They catch up with Jimmy Costanza, T1 co-founder and Capgun Heroes bassist. The talk about the lineup, and the struggle of booking a punk fest in Chicago in the fall. The PTID guys catch up with Tim Jamison, frontman of long running St. Louis punk/hardcore band Ultraman. There's plenty of conversation about the good old days, as well as the band's upcoming album on Rad Girlfriend Records. Tom and Neil finally get a DUI. Two of them actually. Chris and Mark from Milwaukee punks The DUIs stop by to have a brew and talk about their new record. These guys have been a part of the PTID family for years, and Wasted Disaster is the first release on Punk Till I Die Records. With killer tunes from The DUIs, and Skinhead.
Tom went to Savage Mountain Punk Fest and once again survived to tell the tale. He details the good, the bad and the sexy. In stark contrast, he spends the next couple of days watching tennis with the upper crust. Neil goes to see Midge Ure and makes it home in time for a good night's sleep.
