  • Brad & Cort Talk ‘The Crossing’ ep 1×01, “Pilot”
We have been anxiously awaiting this series since the pilot was officially picked up last year and tonight's series premiere did not disappoint. Newly transplanted small-town Sheriff, Jude Ellis (Steve Zahn) moved to quiet Port Canaan where the only criminal element appeared to be a single armed robber. His deputy hadn't even seen a dead body before. Then they arrived. Four hundred bodies wash ashore at one of the local beaches and among them, there are about 47 survivors. Crashed plane or wrecked ship? Nope, our survivors are refugees from that future to come that is rife with war and a dwindling human population. What's the problem? Robots? Zombies? Nah. The series centers on refugees escaping a future where enhanced humans known as Apex (Alpha Predators) have pretty much taken over.
Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down their favorite moments from tonight's series premiere and ruminate over possible theories about these refugees and the future they've escaped? Did you catch on to the fact that they were all named after Biblical figures? Well, except Reece (Natalie Martinez) and maybe others in the refugee grouping that we've yet to find out more about. What does that mean? Leah didn't even know what the Bible was when Jude mentioned it. What about Lindauer? Whose side is he on? Is he Apex or human? Hit play and then drop us a comment below or send us an email at [email protected] to let us know if you have your own theory about the refugees? Lindauer infiltrated the government, but for what aim? Is he meant to stop Apex from ever happening or ensure that it does? Tonight was just the premiere, but it should be interesting to see where things go from here. The show seems to have a lot of potential.  What do you think? Stop by our Facebook group to let us know.

  • 'Siren' recap: Brad and Cort Talk the Freeform series premier
Welcome back to Bristol Cove! In honor of International Mermaid Day, Freeform finally dropped its much anticipated new series, Siren. Tonight's two-hour series premiere introduces us to Ryn (Eline Powell), our titular mermaid out of water. Well, she does end up in the sea a few times and it's never a good time for her would'be prey when that happens. Ryn arrives in Bristol Cove after another mermaid (her sister!) is caught up in some fishermen's net. The danger turns out to be the armed men who show up at sea to take custody of the newly caught mermaid and one of the injured fishermen.
Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down the major moments in tonight's premiere.  Ryn proves that she quite capable of taking care of herself, even in a world that she doesn't quite understand. She also meets up with Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola). The two marine biologists appear fascinated not only with the Siren's song, but also the discovery of her existence. Beyond that, they really seem interested in helping the young woman. Someone who also wants to help? Helen (Rena Owen) appears to know quite a lot mermaids and their history around Bristol Cove. Both Brad and Cort have their own theories about Helen's origins and why she happens to know so much. Listen in and then be sure to drop us a comment to let us know your theory. It's early yet and he's focused on finding his friend, but will Xander end up joining "Team Ryn"? How much do Ben's parents really know about mermaids? Who is behind the capture of Ryn's sister? So many questions, but thankfully we have an entire season of this fresh new tale (couldn't resist!).
Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on Eps 1×01/1x02 “Pilot” and "The Lure". You can also email your thoughts and comments to us at [email protected].

Welcome back, Kryptonians. This week, Seg is a man on a mission. Actually, so is Adam Strange. Seg is after a spot of revenge for his parents' deaths. Adam Strange is more focused on the fate of Krypton and Seg's future grandson. Strange spends much of the episode trying to convince Seg that imminent danger is coming for the doomed planet.  Elsewhere, Nyssa is of being extra shady with her father and Lyta proves that she is a badass Zod after all.
Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down their favorite moments from this week's episode, "House of El". Were you worried about Lyta after she challenged her commander for the right to lead? She definitely proved that she was her mother's daughter.
