Purple FTW! Podcast

The NFL Draft is The Most Wonderful Time of the Year for some fans. Hope springs eternal with the latest batch of franchise saviors as their names get read off at a podium. To help us go DEEP on the draft, longtime friend of the show Luke Inman (@Luke_Spinman) of The Football Machine and The Draft Rap joins us to sort through some of the buzz names Minnesota Vikings fans should keep an eye on, positions of need for the Vikes (pending free agency), and what might happen at the top of the draft with so many quarterback needy teams.

Jam packed show! We brought in friend of the program and Philadelphia Eagles apologist Benjamin Solak (@BenjaminSolak) of Bleeding Green Nation to do a thorough run through about what Minnesota Vikings fans should expect from new offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. Also Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) swings in to talk NFL Draft with a focus on 3-tech defensive tackles the Purple should target in April. Plus Vikes Over Beers with Josh Pelto (@joshpelto) and Andrew Roth (@sandrewroth) chatting weather, free agency, DeFilippo, TV, and whatever else comes up for a few cold ones.

All that and more "SOYLENT GREEN IS COUSINS" chatter on this edition of the Purple FTW! Podcast!

With Minnesota Vikings 2018 offseason preparations in full swing, we had our guy Daniel House (@DanielHouseNFL) stop by Blue Door to pontificate about the Purple. We chatted about the hiring of new offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, what the Vikings' needs are headed into free agency and the draft, and who the heck the quarterback will be. Plus we touched on his week of Super Bowl coverage.

We chatted about the hiring of new offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, what the Vikings' needs are headed into free agency and the draft, and who the heck the quarterback will be. Plus we touched on his week of Super Bowl coverage.

The Minnesota Vikings have tabbed Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo to hopefully lead the offense to more than 7 points in the NFC Championship Game next season, not that I'm still bitter... We brought in our guy Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) to talk about why he was in on Flip early and what he brings to the table offensively. Then we dove into three interior offensive lineman the Vikes should target in the NFL Draft. Plus Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and I hoisted some Vikes Over Beers and recapped the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is over. Everyone go home. Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) of The Scoop Podcast stops by the Blue Door Pub to talk about covering The Big Game, the crazy week of media coverage, and how the Twin Cities fared as a host city. Plus we got into Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo interviewing for the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator opening, what it means for Kevin Stefanski, if the Vikes are now in the derby for Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, Kirk Cousins rumors, and a lot more on the Purple's 2018 quarterback position.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings' quarterback position drama took another turn with reports of Teddy Bridgewater's contract possibly being tolled for 2018 in play. Plus throw in Kirk Cousins entering open free agency and you have a good ole fashioned brouhaha. We sat and commiserated about it with my guys Josh Pelto and Andrew Roth for some Vikes Over Beers. Plus Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) stops in to talk quarterbacks, draft, and potential new Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.
