Purple FTW! Podcast

A playoff miracle FINALLY went the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings' way as the Purple staved off a potential historic collapse to defeat the New Orleans Saints 29-24 Sunday at Historic US Bank Stadium. Stefon Diggs' last second 61-yard touchdown catch and run will go down as one of the few positive infamous moments in team history. Now it's on to Philadelphia for a chance to travel to.... Minneapolis to play Super Bowl LII.

The long awaited showdown between the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings and the Crooked New Orleans Saints at Historic US Bank Stadium is finally here. Vikings Fans this will be the first step on the road to redemption as the Purple try to Bring It Home. Helping us bring home some cash on the Divisional Round is picks with Joe Duffy (@Offshoreinsider). Plus a candid conversation with former Saints wide receiver Donte Stallworth (@DonteStallworth). We talked about his time with the Saints during the 2005 Hurricane Katrina season, how his DUI manslaughter incident changed his life and sharpened his advocacy, and I make him bet his house on the Vikings-Saints game.

We start sinking our teeth into the upcoming Minnesota Fightin' Vikings versus the Crooked New Orleans Saints matchup with 5 Things. Topics include: Are the Vikings better or worse than Week 1, what to do with Sam Bradford, Kyle Rudolph could be an X-factor on Sunday, potential offensive line shakeups, and the #FreeMcKinnon movement. Plus friends of the program Josh Pelto, Andrew Roth, and Ben Theis stop by for some Vikes Over Beers as we relive and rehash the 2009 NFC Title Game and look ahead to Sunday's revenge game over a few cold ones.

Can the week please go by a little faster so we can get to the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings beating down the New Orleans Saints already? To help speed along the process is Friend Emeritus of the show Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) to chat about the Divisional Round grudge match, potential offensive line shakeups, injuries, and Kai Forbath Revenge Game narrative. Plus Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) checks in to discuss Drew Brees becoming DREW BREES again, potential weaknesses in the Saints defense, and how the Zimmer Hellfire Defense should look to shut down the Fightin' Sean Paytons.

Drew Brees, Sean Payton, and the New Orleans Jabronis are driving their jalopy bus up north to take on the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings at Historic and ravenous US Bank Stadium. To chat about the matchup, we brought in Friend of the Program Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) ESPN NFL Nation Vikings Reporter back to the show to talk about how the Vikings will look off the bye, preview the upcoming piece about Case Keenum preparing via virtual reality, the historic storylines of vitirol, and if the season is a bust of the Vikings aren't hoisting a trophy on February 4th.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are set to play the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round Sunday afternoon at Historic US Bank Stadium. Setting aside the bad blood playoff narratives of seasons past, the Saints come in as one of the most balanced teams in the league and their third win of the season over the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card. We pontificate a few thoughts about the upcoming rematch, break down whether or not Vikings fans should still be bitter about the 2009 NFC Championship Game, plus an extended rant about Is This Season a Failure if the Vikings Don't Win the Super Bowl?

Wild Card Weekend is here and the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings will be just like us: sitting on the couch and waiting to see how the Divisional Round shapes up. To help us make some money on the weekend, we brought in our friend Joe Duffy (@Offshoreinsider) to handicap the games and tell us the potential opening lines of the three possible Division Round foes of the Vikings. Plus our man Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) stops by to talk potential offensive line shakeups, Pat Shurmur's future, the historic Zimmer Hellfire Defense, and more.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings have a few days off while they wait to see who will be coming into Historic US Bank Stadium January 14th for the Divisional Round. With extra time to stew, the major topics include if Vikings coordinators Pat Shurmur and George Edwards will be holstering challenge flags in 2018. For the rumors around that, we brought in the man Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) of The Scoop Podcast to iron out the latest and who would be the heir apparent in each situation. Plus we head to the bar for some Vikes Over Beers with Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and Andrew Roth (@sandrewroth).

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings have to wait a week to find out who they'll be facing in the Divisional Round. Fortunately (unfortunately?) that gives Vikings fans a week to stew and argue over trivial things. Great content for us though! Friend of the Program Shawn Zobel (@ShawnZobel) -- host of the Football Headquarters Podcast -- on the show to talk about the Purple preparing for the playoffs, the historic Zimmer Hellfire Defense, whether or not we should trust Case Keenum, nepotism in the NFL, and his latest NFL Draft project The Sideline Pass.

Rebroadcast of one of our favorite chats with former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Henry Thomas. Henry is 14-year NFL veteran having played for the Vikings, Lions, and Patriots during his career. A 3rd round pick out of LSU (72nd overall in 1987), Henry went on to be a two-time Pro Bowler, earned 2nd team All-Pro honors in 1993, and finished his career with 93.5 sacks (currently 39th on the all-time list). All of this interior pressure while being a nose tackle. Henry is currently not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame but hopefully "one day it's gonna happen".
