Purple FTW! Podcast

Game time. The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings look to get back on track as double-digit favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals as the Vikes return to the friendly confines of Historic US Bank Stadium after 1.5 fortnights on the road. To help us preview the Kentucky Kitties is Joe Goodberry (@JoeGoodberry) of Bengals Wire/USA Today. We talked about if this is it for Marvin Lewis, the legacy of Mike Zimmer in Cincinnati, the Dalvin Cook vs. Joe Mixon draft debate, and the frustration of Andy Dalton. Plus Joe Duffy (@offshoreinsider) swings in and tells me if the Purple should be comfortable laying those 11 points on Sunday.

The Holidays are upon us and the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are preparing to hopefully deliver cheer and warm tidings instead of the giant lumps of coal that have inhabited the stockings of the Purple faithful going on 50+ years now. Not that I'm bitter. Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) of The Scoop Podcast swings by to talk about the Carolina loss, why it was a fluke game, latest on the injury front, and look ahead to Cincinnati. Plus Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and Andrew Roth (@sandrewroth) for Vikes Over Beers as we try to rinse away the loss and spin positive the rest of the hopefully memorable (in a good way) 2017 season.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings still have Super Bowl aspirations despite the bump in the road and said road hopefully will lead right through Minneapolis to Minneapolis as the Twin Cities prepares to host Super Bowl 52 at historic US Bank Stadium. To talk about the preparation for the coverage is friend of the program (@CoryHepola) of KARE 11. We talked about the media angles for the game, what the atmosphere would be like if the Vikings ACTUALLY manage to be the first team to play the Super Bowl at home, and his overall thoughts on the Zimmer squad so far this season.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are 10-3 and looking to bounce back this week at Historic US Bank Stadium against head coach Mike Zimmer's former squadron, the Cincinnati Bengals. The Vikes hopefully got a wakeup call Sunday against the Panthers. If not, we have some cold hard truths for them on Tell The Truth Tuesday regarding where the Purple stand and what position group is the key to the rest of the season. Plus Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) hops in for his weekly spot to recap the game, dissect the Case Keenum performance, if the time is right for Teddy Bridgewater, and how the Carson Wentz ACL shapes the NFC playoff hunt.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings squandered away numerous opportunities in Charlotte and fell to the Carolina Panthers 31-24 on Sunday. Case Keenum showed off the entire spectrum of Case Keenum, the offensive line was porous and banged up, the receivers had uncharacteristic drops, and the defense suddenly can't stop the run (although we warned y'all about that). But other than that... Everything is peachy!

Minnesota Fightin' Vikings Fans are demanding excellence from the team and the Purple are delivering. To take a look ahead at the showdown in Carolina, we welcomed in Friend of the Program Travis Hancock (@TBoneWFNZ) of WFNZ The Fan in Charlotte to talk about Cam Newton, the handsomely-paid Matt Kalil, and the overall temperature of the Panther fan base. Joe Duffy (@offshoreinsider) swings in to talk about the sports betting aspects surrounding the game and why Vikings fans should be particularly interested in the Packers @ Browns tilt. Plus we bring it home with Jordan Reid's (@JReidDraftScout) weekly spot and find out if he's *finally* sold on Case Keenum.

Defense and offensive line always travel. The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings have both and indeed will need both to come away with a win in Carolina on Sunday -- the last real road test of the season for the Purple (Green Bay SHADE). We brought in Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) to talk about if he's still concerned about the Atlanta Falcons come playoff time, why he's whiffed on so many predictions, and if the Vikings can close out the season with the 1-seed and make the NFC come through US Bank Stadium. Plus Vikes Over Beers with Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and Andrew Roth (@sandrewroth) for a little Purple talk over a few cold ones!

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are trying to go all Han Solo on the 2017 season and Skywalker their way to a Lombardi trophy presented in early February at Historic US Bank Stadium. It would be very Chewy if..... Alright, I've never seen the Star Wars movies. Whatever. We've got Yinka Ayinde (@saxyprince) of The Daily Norseman/Zone Coverage/Climbing the Pocket Podcast at the Blue Door Pub to talk about the Vikes in the 1-seed, if he's finally a believer in Case Keenum, and if he's *finally* allowing himself to get his hopes up about this season's team.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are currently the #1 seed in the NFC playoff chase. Let that soak in. The Vikes are playing under-the-radar great football and that's the way head coach Mike Zimmer (and frankly most of the fans) like it. Today on the show, we bear our soul with some Tell The Truth Tuesday regarding the Vikings and the national media. Plus a round of your Twitter questions!

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings got their 8th win in a row grounding the Atlanta Falcons 14-9 Sunday afternoon in the Georgia Dome 2.0 (which looks suspiciously familiar.....). The Zimmer Hellfire Defense paved the way holding the best 3rd down offense in the NFL to 1-of-10 on the day. Add in some timely offense and you have a recipe for yet another impressive win the national media won't give two hoots about. Whatever.
