Purple FTW! Podcast

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings took care of business Sunday wrapping up the 2-seed in the NFC Playoffs with a workmanlike 23-10 win over the Chicago Bears. The Zimmer Hellfire Defense led the charge allowing the Bears to only score 3 points on offense while denying them twice on fourth down inside the redzone. It was a solid win to send the Vikes into the bye week as they wait to see who emerges in the Divisional Round.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are playing out the string Week 17 at home versus the Chicago Bears. The game's important to cement 2-seed standing in the NFC, but their eyes are on a bigger prize -- that glorious trophy that is unfortunately named. To talk about the Purple's quest for the Lombardi, we brought in show favorite Eric Eager (@PFF_EricEager) of Pro Football Focus to chat numbers, analytics, FOOTBALL football, and how the Vikings stack up against the rest of the NFC. Plus more obscure late 90s-early aughts Vikings player references than you can shake a stick at.

Minnesota Fightin' Vikings Fans are looking ahead to the postseason, but are we getting too cute saying we WANT to play at Philadelphia in the NFC Championship Game? We'll take it one week at a time with Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) as we preview the Chicago Bears, talk about the potential return of Sam Bradford, and gush about Lamar Jackson. Plus Vikes Over Beers with a super-sized and fun crew talking about playoff seeding and which matchups fans are rooting for.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are back at it and so are we as the Purple look to maintain their 2-seed playoff standing with a Week 17 victory over the Chicago Bears in the friendly confines of Historic US Bank Stadium. Reclusive Producer Allie (@ProducerAllieCD) pops out of her cave to talk about the cautious excitement around the Vikings this season, what exactly she does around here, and I have strong thoughts on recliners. Plus Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) swings in to chat playoff matchups, Da Bears, possible Pat Shurmur destinations, and dang it... Mike Morris should've taken over long snapping.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are about to bring a sleigh full of pain to Lambeau Field Saturday night as the Purple try to sweep the season series versus the listless Green Bay Packers. To help us turn a profit on the slaughter is Joe Duffy (@OffshoreInsider). Plus Joe let's us know if it's smart for teams in clinched playoff scenarios to rest their players late in the season. Plus a super-sized Christmas/Holiday/Vikings/Food related mailbag to bring you into the weekend!

Hopefully the cinematic experience that is the 2017 Minnesota Fightin' Vikings is better than the actual "Reindeer Games". Which was atrocious. Vikes Over Beers was lively with Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and Andrew Roth (@sandrewroth) recapping the Cincinnati Bengals game, looking ahead to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, and we have beef with the Pro Bowl (even though we hate it). Plus to preview the Pack is longtime friend of the show Alex Gelhar (@AlexGelhar) of NFL.com Fantasy.

The Holidays came early for the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings and their fans as the NFC North Division is already gift wrapped a week before Christmas. Plus it'd be nice if the Vikes got a little naughty Saturday at Lambeau Field and swept the season series with the Green Bay Packers. To help us jingle in this episode is Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout). We talked about the Cincinnati Bengals curb stomping, Case Keenum continuing to ball out, the significance of Teddy returning to game reps, and a look ahead at the playoff picture. Plus Darren "Doogie" Woflson (@DWolfsonKSTP) with the latest news and insight from the Purple as well as Pro Bowl snubs.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are playoff bound and we had the awesome and talented Dawn Mitchell (@DawnAtFOX9) to talk about covering the 2017 NFC North Champs (and hopefully more), the upcoming Minneapolis Super Bowl, the atmosphere at Historic US Bank Stadium for the clinching victory and the return of Teddy Bridgewater, and her prediction for the rest of the season. Plus we talk about her media journey, stories from covering earlier iterations of the Vikings, and how the journalism landscape is changing.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings got right Sunday with an impressive 34-7 beat down of the Northern Kentucky Bengals of Cincinnati Sunday at Historic US Bank Stadium. The Zimmer Hellfire Defense restoked the flames, Case Keenum continued to impress down the stretch, and Teddy Bridgewater made his long awaited debut with a warm reception from the USB crowd. ...Then promptly had a pass deflection interception because OF COURSE.
