In today’s PEP talk, I discuss a topic inspired by a recent question from a parent that turned into an interesting and productive phone call: getting into college gymnastics/athletics. I thought the topic was worth discussing in case other parents or athletes out there had similar worries and questions about getting into college gymnastics or other collegiate sports.

Description: In today’s PEP talk, I discuss “Imposter Syndrome”: how it affects athletes and ways to overcome it. I enjoyed learning more about Imposter Syndrome for this episode. Shout out and thank you to Dayna Burnworth, a friend of mine, for recommending this topic.

In today’s PEP talk, I read through a recent blog post that I wrote with Complete Performance Coaching, an online based mental performance coaching program that I work for. This entry is a letter to my younger athlete self. It was an interesting experience writing and reading this out loud. I hope you enjoy listening. I encourage you to write a letter to your younger self to see what you can practice reflecting on and try to learn from your previous experiences.

In today's PEP Talk, I talk about the biggest mistakes I made as an athlete and the lessons that I specifically took away from those experiences. Hopefully, you can learn from my mistakes prior to making them like I did. My mistakes and lessons have guided me closer towards the pursuit of excellence and I hope you can learn from your mistakes and mine to do the same.

In today's PEP Talk, we talk about the idea of overtraining: what it is, how to identify it and how to mitigate it. I hope this discussion of overtraining allows you to pursue excellence without burning out yourself or athletes you work with.

On today's PEP Talk, my cohost Sara and I talk about ways to mentally prepare for upcoming competition. While we don't cover a comprehensive list of things, we touch on a few key ways you can prep yourself a week before competition day. Please feel free to message us and let us know if you tried any of these techniques and if they worked for you or not. We thank you for your support!

In today's PEP Talk I discuss my perspective on how I understand what champions' thought processes are. I know this is a very broad topic, but I did my best to compile 10 specific things that champions actively think about and how they strive for success. I would love to expand more on this in the future, but for now, I think today's discussion was solid. Thank you for supporting my journey with this podcast and with my pursuit of excellence every day. I appreciate you supporting this very ramble-y PEP Talk.
