As the first Racer men's basketball player to win four OVC regular season titles, Paul King was a star among stars as four of his teammates went on to become members of the Murray State Hall of Fame. In 2022, it was King's turn to be enshrined. His lasting legacy is that of playing elite defense and being an often overlooked offensive threat. King could've gone other places, but was destined to be a Racer. A decision that was one of the best in his life.

With more than 50 years combined experience with Murray State Athletics, Bill and Cheryl Whitaker impacted the Racers in a positive way from 1975-2010. Bill served as NCAA Faculty Representative for the Racers and Cheryl in Athletics Administration with Men's Basketball. It has been a labor of love for the Whitaker family.
