Kirk Rueter, Murray State baseball hall of famer joins the program to speak of his 13-year major league baseball career and how he got his start when legendary coach Johnny Reagan brought the lefty to MSU in 1989. By the time he was a junior, Rueter was the OVC Pitcher of the Year. Drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1991, he debuted about three years later in the big leagues where he won his first eight games. Rueter retired in 2005 as the winningest lefthander in San Francisco Giants history. Rueter also talks about pitching in the 2002 world series and how he got the nickname “Woody”.

On episode 83 of the Runnin' with the Racers Podcast, Murray State hall of famer Isaiah Canaan is thankful of the career he had with the Racers' men's basketball team from 2009-13. One of the most influential figures in program history, Canaan helped set the Racers on a decade of winning championships and sending players to the NBA.

On episode 81 of the Runnin’ with the Racers podcast, spring is here and that means Murray State Baseball! Right-hander Trevor McMurray talks about his big start to the season including starting the season with 25 innings of shutout pitching. From Wildwood, Mo., in the St. Louis area, McMurray has Alabama roots and played at Lafayette high school, a program with one of the best baseball alumni lists around. Having already earned his MSU degree in accounting, McMurray is working on his MBA with eyes on becoming a CPA. If professional baseball comes calling, he’s got a plan to make sure his career as an accountant is thought of first. We also have news of the week from Murray State Athletics including some advice on dealing with the heartbreaking loss for the Racer men in the championship game of the OVC Basketball Tournament in Evansville.

And also, how Jenkins is a budding musical talent and recently wrote a song for Ja Morant. Ribeiro has an amazing backstory of how she moved from Brazil to the USA and Chicopee, Mass., when she was five years old and didn't begin playing organized sports until she entered high school. Also today, updates from Murray State spring sports and the race for for the OVC basketball title comes down to the final two weeks.

Episode 77 of the program features Murray State Hall of Famer, Ashley Hayes, who was a big part of the greatest period of Racer women's basketball from 2005-09. The Racers won back-to-back OVC regular season championships and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Hayes was the first Racer to win consecutive OVC Player of the Year awards and finished her career with 2,007 points for second place all-time at MSU.
