Quotes:
If you need to let a grand parent, a sister, a friend or a post partum doula into your bubble for your mental health, I will argue that in court for you for days!
My best advice for a new parent is to manage their expectations about baby sleep.

Its a journey. There is no destination. We are all works in progress.
Self improvement is not synonymous with self hatred. One does not need to improve only from a place of distaste.
Tapping into feelings in our bodies with food as fuel, vs control and restriction.
A whole lot of riffing.
Hey! We are Sarah and Lara.
We are doulas, mothers, women, wives, and entrepreneurs.
We love the gym, food, coffee, health, kombucha, our families and our friends.
We are committed to bring authentic, honest and vulnerable, and showing up here just the way we are.
We promise to never positive wash anything, but please know that we are whole heartedly committed to Radically Thriving.
Ultimately we want women and mothers to know deeply who they are, and what makes them feel happy.
On this episode:
Talking about the general path we see a person take in pregnancy and birth. Not prepared, taken by surprise, and often ending up with traumatic birth stories.
Talk about our own experiences with Trauma, including Lara's blood clot story, which she wonders may be PTSD.
Tangents about shame and birth, guilt and birth, and knowing "when we know better, we do better".
One of many chats we will have about balance.
Does work life balance exist?
We live in a society where the chase for balance is endless. We have so much on our plates, and it often feels like we are a waiter carrying multiple plates at a time.
Where are Lara and Sarah feeling balance, and un balanced in their lives?
Scheduling dedicated time with the kids who have school, vs being a home schooler mom and being around your kids ALL day.
What does "Balance" mean to us? As mothers, and as doulas.
Talking about the coming year and how CRAZY busy we are.
Is balance the same as thriving?
Prioritizing pleasure, and what that means. Putting YOUR oxygen mask on first.
Self care accountability partners.
How Lara cares for herself as an RMT.

Next week we have an intro and an outro I PROMISE!
Our official launch is Jan 4, but we wanted to give you all a special holiday episode to listen to.
Christmas time is hard for moms, we give give give, organize, and rush around to curate a perfect holiday for our families.
Take time and carve out a peaceful snowy walk for yourself and hang out with us.
We are talking about female partnership and business, maintaining friendships with kids (or without), and then get into what Christmas was like for us as kids, how we are actually doing right now, and a lot of laughs.
Shout out to Lindsay Martens, ND.

We are having a lot of clients reach out to us and ask about Home Birth, and Doula support Virtually.
Virtual support has a TON of value, we are your personal google, your birth planner, and we can do so much just by speaking with you.
Hands on is a great addition but not necessary. Invest in making your journey less stressful.
We thought this pandemic would be over or at least less by now and perhaps that was naive.
We chat about what we can do as virtual doulas, what it looks like, feels like, etc.
Then we talk about home birth, the safety of it, commonly asked questions and giving you all the answers.
Finished up with some rapid fire questions about US!
Great info about HOME BIRTH STATS HERE

Hey there!! We are Lara and Sarah
Doulas, fitness enthusiasts, nature lovers, recovering from the societal expectations of mother martyrdom, and working hard for MORE thrive in our lives.
We started this podcast because we see so many of our clients surviving instead of thriving.
We have made big strides in the direction of self love, acceptance, and growing into the women we know we are.
We want to connect with our audience on a deeper level.
Here we begin the deep conversations we love having about life, motherhood, thriving vs surviving, and so much more.
Grab a coffee or a glass of wine, sit down in a cozy chair, or maybe put your headphones on for a walk and spend some time with us.
Quick fire questions, and some deep dives into what we would tell our teen selves.
Dipped our toes into the the realm of cycles.
