Zimbabwe police fired tear gas to disperse protesting kombi drivers in the capital Harare yesterday. The kombis - the counterpart of South Africa's minibus taxis - were protesting against the number of roadblocks and what they call police brutality. At least one police officer was reported to have been injured. It's the second violent protest in Zimbabwe over the last few days, after a warehouse was torched at the border town of Beit Bridge on Friday. Shingai Nyoka reports

More than three hundred people have been left homeless as the fire burnt to the ground shacks at Sea Cow Lake in Durban in KwaZulu Natal. Emergency officials say most people have suffered smoke inhalation and rushed to hospitals. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Nhlanhla Nxele reports.
