Three people died while several others were injured in various parts of Kenya during opposition protests called to push for the resignation of the country's electoral commission officials. In Kisumu, Homa Bay and Siaya towns in the West of the country, some of the opposition strongholds, the protests turned violent as police pushed to stop the protests, which they have termed illegal. The opposition says the electoral commission as it is currently constituted, cannot be trusted to carry out a free and fair election. The commissioners have said they have not been found guilty of any wrong-doing and will therefore not resign. Sarah Kimani reports
