The only surviving victim of the triple family murder in Katlehong on Gauteng's East Rand says she wants justice to prevail. Nthabiseng Letsoalo survived a brutal attack at the hands of her two cousins. The other three victims, two teenage girls and a seven month old baby, were assaulted and their bodies tossed inside a bathtub full of boiling water. Neliswa Mavundla reports

The PAC has retained its top leadership at its 10th Elective Congress in Molapoamogale, near KwaMhlanga, in Mpumalanga. Luthando Mbinda remains party president, while Narius Moloto, holds the powerful position of Secretary-General. The newly appointed Finance Minister David Van Rooyen has lost his job after just four days in office. He is now replaced by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Pravin Gordhan. President Jacob Zuma removed Van Rooyen from his portfolio last night and appointed him the new Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs which was earlier led by Gordhan. Van Rooyen took over from Nhlanhla Nene last Wednesday. But his appointment was met with fierce criticism from within government, business, opposition parties and even some within the ANC. A delegation from the ANC's National Working Committee is in Durban to meet with a group of disgruntled KwaZulu-Natal party members. This comes after protesters twice marched to the provincial offices demanding a rerun of the provincial elective conference. Supporters of ousted provincial chairperson Senzo Mchunu claim there were irregularities in the conference that elected Sihle Zikalala and his slate last month. Meanwhile, a group of ANC members in the party's uMlazi zone have vowed to boycott the ANC's eThekwini regional conference citing manipulation of branches. Zanele Buthelezi report

Ratings Agency Moody's says it will closely monitor any potential policy implications of the move by President Jacob Zuma to remove Nhlanhla Nene as the country's finance minster. It says fiscal policies are an important factor in its assessment of a country's credit profile.
