Rhodes University maintains that it will not condone 'unlawful conduct' which serves to undermine just and noble struggles from any of its students. This follows an online campaign titled #RhodesWar in support of female student activists have been expelled from the institution for allegedly holding protests against sexual abuses. The female students claim sentences imposed upon them for common law crimes such as kidnapping and assault are harsher than those imposed on male students found guilty of sexual offences. we speak to the Director of Litigation at the Socio-Economic Rights Institute, Nomzamo Zondo. The police officer responsible for investigating a criminal case against the Author of "The President's Keepers", Jacques Pauw, has been removed. Colonel Reuben Govender, of the KwaZulu-Natal police was removed from the case before Pauw and investigative journalist Pieter-Louis Myburgh were to present themselves at his office to be charged. Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle has failed to appear before the ANC' Special Provincial Executive Committee meeting held in King William's Town to discuss the report of the public protector. Masualle and four mayors of the affected municipalities were summoned to appear before this committee to account on the public protector's report . The damning findings by Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane say the provincial government has misappropriated 300-million rand during preparations for former president Nelson Mandela funeral in December 2013. However the four mayors attended the meeting while Masualle did not pitch up as he is still consulting his legal team on the report .Makhaya Komisa has more .

Metrorail says its central line services will remain suspended in Cape Town due to vandalism of critical infrastructure. Train services between Chris Hani, Kapteinsklip and Bishop Lavis have been affected and thousands of commuters stranded. The ANC has vowed to tighten the legislation on parole. This is part of its policy proposals as it goes to its national elective congress this weekend. The five day meeting will adopt this and other policy proposals discussed at the party's Policy Conference in June. Currently the Correctional Services Act stipulates that prisoners who have served half of their sentence are eligible for parole. But this has been strongly criticised as some of these offenders revert back to their old ways. Our Political Correspondent Ntebo Mokobo has more.

The death toll from the outbreak of Listeriosis disease has risen to 37 following the death of a pregnant woman at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria over the weekend. The Department of Health says although listeriosis is serious, it is treatable and preventable. We speak to the Head of the Centre for Enteric Diseases at the National Institute For Communicable Diseases (NICD), Dr Juno Thomas.

Trade Union BEMAWU says if the SABC tables an improved offer, it is prepared to call off Thursday's strike. BEMAWU and CWU have rejected the SABC's four-point-five per cent salary increase, backdated to October this year. The increase would be paid next year. Both unions say they are now forging ahead with their strike at the public broadcaster. CWU says the salary increase should instead be back dated by nine months.
