Suspended Gauteng Mental Health Director, Dr Makgabo Manamela could face arrest if she again fails to appear at the Life Esidimeni hearings on Thursday. Arbitrator Justice Moseneke ordered that a warrant for her arrest be issued after she failed to arrive for her second day of testimony in Parktown, Johannesburg, following a grilling on Monday. The warrant will however remain suspended pending her appearance on Thursday. Manamela's lawyer Lerato Mashilane said her client was not well and had gone to see a doctor. Robert Mugabe resigned as Zimbabwe's president yesterday evening ending his four decades of rule. The 93-year-old had clung on for a week after an army takeover and expulsion from his own ruling ZANU-PF party, but resigned shortly after parliament began an impeachment process seen as the only legal way to force him out. Wild celebrations broke out at a joint sitting of parliament in Harare when Speaker Jacob Mudenda announced Mugabe's resignation and suspended the impeachment procedure. Members of the Public Enterprises Committee and the Evidence Leader Ntuthuzelo Vanara roasted former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe during his testimony into Eskom inquiry in parliament last night. During a marathon grilling which lasted until the early hours this morning-questions put to Molefe varied from his relationship with the Gupta family, the R30 million pension fund payout to him by Eskom and the findings of the former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela about the alleged phone calls he made while around the house of the Gupta family in Saxonworld, Johannesburg. Despite his initial reluctance to provide direct answers to questions posed to him- Molefe admitted some of the claims levelled against him as facts. These include, an admission in what he calls a mistake of the pension fund payout to him by Eskom. Abongwe Kobokana filed this report.

Zimbabwe is awaiting the return of Emmerson Mnangagwa - the man who served as former President Robert Mugabe's right-hand man. Mnangagwa will be sworn as interim president this afternoon after Mugabe stepped down yesterday. Mugabe fired Mnangagwa on November the sixth, triggering a military take-over. Mnangagwa reportedly fled to South Africa after receiving death threats. We speak to Senior Research Consultant at Institute for Security Studies, Derek Matyszak.
