Senior researcher at the Institute for Security Studies Dr Johan Burger says it's too early to say whether newly-appointed National Police Commission, Kehla Sitole, can handle the pressure of fighting crime in South Africa. President Jacob Zuma appointed the former Divisional Commissioner for Protection and Security Services to the position yesterday. The DA says it's not convinced that Sitole, is the best person to lead the police because he loyal to former commissioner Riya Phiyega. However, Parliament's Police Committee Chairperson Francois Beukman has welcomed Sitole's appointment saying he's capable of bringing stability to the SAPS.
