The Constitutional Court to hear the EFF's bid to force parliament to take steps against president Jacob Zuma for failing to uphold the constitution. The EFF applied for direct access to the Constitutional Court on grounds that the speaker of national assembly Baleka Mbethe failed take action against the president following the court's ruling that he violated his oath of office. This is for failing to implement the Public Protector's remedial action that he pay back the money spent on non-security upgrades at his Nkandla home. Senior political journalist Amos Phago reports.

Family members of four children found dead at Ncukeni village outside Port Edward on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast are reeling with shock. Three of the children - aged between four and twelve - were discovered in their beds with numerous stab wounds to the chest, while one child was found in the garden. Three of them had their ears cut off. The childrens' aunt Phakamile Mbhele says their mother usually left the children alone over the weekends with no adult supervision. The situation is quiet in and around Vuwani in Limpopo where the community has embarked on a stay away. The Pro-Makhado Task Team is behind the action after accusing government of failure to implement President Jacob Zuma's suggestion that the area should get municipal services from the Vhembe district. Businesses are closed while school children and some commuters are walking to some villages outside Vuwani to get transport. The Pro-Makhado Task Team has threatened to once again disrupt services around Vuwani in Limpopo by embarking on a total shutdown today. They are accusing the provincial government of failing to implement President Jacob Zuma's decision that the area should temporarily get municipal services from the Vhembe district. Some residents have rejected the Municipal Demarcation Board's decision to incorporate them into LIM345 and they have been demanding to return to the Makhado Local Municipality. ANC NEC member Bheki Cele has told the Chris Hani Branch at uPhongolo in northern KwaZulu-Natal that supporting an ANC leader accused of wrongdoing is not unprecedented in the party. According to weekend reports, deputy president and presidential hopeful Cyril Ramaphosa has had a number of extra-marital affairs over the years. He has admitted to one affair but said he had cleared the matter up with his wife years ago. Cele was delivering a Nelson Mandela lecture at the branch which has unequivocally endorsed Ramaphosa to succeed President Zuma at the party's December elective conference. Cele also warned the ANC of the posibility of losing the 2019 general election if it ignores the diagostic report after last year's election which painted it as corrupt, arrogant and socially distant.
