Lawyers association, Advocates for Transformation, has rejected the apology by KZN ANC Chairperson, Sihle Zikalala, after he labelled Advocate Thembeka Ngcukaitobi "counter revolutionay". Judgement on the on the coffin assault case sitting at the high court in Middelburg, Mpumalanga has been reserved for Friday. Judge Segopotjo Mphahlele has acknowledged and accepted all the legal arguments from both the state and the defence team. The high court meanwhile has heard that Willem Oosthuizen had his cousin murdered on a farm in recent years. His lawyer, Wayne Gibbs says this is among other reasons why they reacted with anger when Victor Rethabile Mlotshwa threatened to kill their families. And state prosecutor, Robert Molokoane pleaded with the high court that the two accused to be found guilty on all seven counts of the charges. Abongile Dumako reports...

SADC leaders have instructed the Electoral Commission in the DRC to publicise the revised electoral calendar that will take the country to the much anticipated elections. This is part of the resolutions of the 37th session of the SADC Summit which ended in Pretoria on Sunday. The two day meeting also approved the appointment of a former head of state as the special envoy to the trouble-torn southern African country. And as the SADC Chair, President Jacob Zuma will have to oversee the realisation of this resolution with a possibility of elections taking place next year. Some political parties in Parliament have condemned the government's decision of granting diplomatic immunity to Zimbabwe's First Lady Grace Mugabe to answer charges of assault. The Department of International Relations (Dirco) at the weekend issued a statement confirming that Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane had indeed given Mugabe diplomatic immunity for the alleged assault of Gabriella Engels 2 weeks ago . Nineteen people have been killed and eleven others sustained serious injuries when their taxi crashed off the bridge at KwaXimba at Camperdown between Durban and Pirtermaritzburg. It is believed that the taxi was carrying 26 church members who were attending an unveiling ceremony of a tombstone of another church member in the area. Fanele Mhlongo and Nhlanhla Nxele report.
