The Democratic Alliance wants Public Relations Company Bell Pottinger to make a full disclosure of its contracts with the Gupta family. This comes after the British -based PR Company was found guilty by the U.K's Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) for breaching its code over work done for the Gupta family. Five of the twenty awaiting trial prisoners who escaped while being transported in Johannesburg, have been arrested. The prisoners escaped while being transported in a truck back to the Johannesburg Correctional Services. They had appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates court on Tuesday on various charges including armed robbery, house breaking and theft. A secret cabinet memorandum document purportedly signed by the Minister of Finance Malusi Gigaba requesting President Jacob Zuma and his cabinet to approve a R10 billion to save the cash-strapped South African Airline was leaked to the DA in parliament. The document also revealed that Gigaba requested for Telkom's assert to be sold for the recapitalisation of SAA. Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa could either deny or confirm the authenticity of the document except to say-if at all the proposal comes to fruition, it will require more debate from all the stakeholders. SAA for so long has relied on government guarantees to obtain loans to fund its loss-making operations. DA MP, Alf Lees dropped a bombshell during Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa's question and answer session in parliament yesterday. He revealed that a secret document in his possession shows that government intends to fund Telkom a 10-billion rand bailout for SAA by disposing of shares in other SOE's such as Telkom. The document was leaked to the DA in parliament. This comes as Oakbay Investments has also announced the sale of it's mining unit, Tegeta, which provides Eskom with coal, for almost three-Billion rands to little known Switzerland-based Charles King SA.
