The family of Dumisani Masilela says they are struggling to come to terms with his death. 29 year old Masilela was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night after he was shot during what police believe to be an attempted hijacking in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg. Police in KwaZulu-Natal have confirmed that another woman has been gunned down at the notorious Glebelands hostel in Umlazi south of Durban. The South African Policing Union has threatened to intensify their strike action, which resumed yesterday, following failed attempts to end their dispute with SAPS management. 10 111 operators have indicated that they have sought intervention from government and that effort yielded no results. The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, says there is no justification for the excessive rates cellphone service providers charge for out of bundle data rates. Icasa management appeared before Parliament's Select committee on Communications and Public Enterprises on reducing the cost to communicate.
