The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS, has officially opened applications for funding for the 2018 academic year. The launch was held in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency. The NYDA will provide over 100 centres country-wide to assist with applications. Prospective learners can apply on the NSFAS website or at the NYDA offices. Applications will close on the 30th of November.

A senior Kenyan election official who went missing was found murdered on Monday three days after he was reported missing, the Electoral Commission chairman has said. Chris Msando, the Information, Communications and Technology manager was tortured and killed under unclear circumstances. Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati has now demanded security for all members of the commission. Kenya goes to the polls next on Tuesday week, amid fears of post election violence.
