The Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) says although it supports the quest for an obesity-free nation, it does not believe a tax on sweetened beverages is a way to achieve that goal. The charges against Thuli Madonsela by Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane for leaking her interview with President Zuma will not fly. This is according to the Claude Leon Foundation Chair in Constitutional Governance at the University of Cape Town, Pierre de Vos. This follows reports that Mkhwebane took the decision to lay charges at the Brooklyn police station in Pretoria after President Zuma lodged a complaint at her office. Former ANC MP, Vytjie Mentor says she will be laying charges against Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane for lying about her. This follows reports that Advocate Mkhwebane allegedly said Mentor complained to her about Thuli Madonsela leaking President Zuma's interview.
