The most sobering Radio MoJo Plus in these most distressing times. We talk with restaurant owners, Rick Nakashima of Ruby Tuesday, Gyu-Kaku and Rainbow Drive In, and with Dylan Ching, Regional VP for TS Restaurants Oahu and Kauai about how they are adapting their restaurants to move with these incredibly uncertain times. And Ron Mizutani , CEO of Hawaii Foodbank joins us to update everyone on the dire situation at Hawaii Foodbank- and how hoarding and preparing for the worst, has left the shelves empty not just in the supermarkets, but at the foodbank as well.
Denise Yamaguchi stopped by to give us a quick update of the new website featuring local restaurants and their newly adapted menus - you can find all those details here: https://foodagogo.org/
You can donate anything you can here : http://www.hawaiifoodbank.org/donate

And stay with us Thursday mornings as we bring you news of what's happening in the food world .
Oh, we are so late with getting this one to you .... but nevertheless, it's a lovely episode with lots of advice on cooking and drinking that's timeless , really.. Well, that's my excuse and we're sticking with it.
Donato Loperfido joined us to chat about Italy and its incredible culinary history.
Thomas Obungen of Frolic Hawaii joined us in a discovery of some tiny mom and pops that are perfect for a romantic inexpensive evening, and I bumped into Blake Wallenda of The Flying Wallenda's in the elevator on the way to the studio, so we had a nice wee chat with him about his walk across the Ala Moana Hotel...
Late, but worth it. We hope.
Enjoy!
Henry Adaniya has a great restaurant background - and one you might not know guess if you casually pop into Hank's for a dog . Growing up in Chicago, he was at the helm of Trio from 1993 until 2006 , where he encouraged wild creativity in top chefs including Grant Achatz of Alinea and Next, American forager phenom Iliana Regan of Elizabeth's and The Milkweed Inn ; Food Network Star Gale Gand, Shawn McClain of Sage Las Vegas, and Top Chef contender Dale Levitski of Sinema , Nashville. From fine dining Chicago trailblazing Hank chose to come to Hawaii to rediscover something of his heritage- his parents ran a hot dog stand in Waikiki before he was born... it's a long story, and a good one.
And Christian Self, the charming, humble, owner of Bevy Bar and Taco'Ako in Kakaako joined us to chat about cocktails. A lovely conversation about how our drinking habits are changing, and what Hawaii's signature drinks could be if we ever got away from a certain sweet orange and rum flavored cocktail. We saved chatting about Taco'Ako for another time. A good excuse to have Christian back to talk story.
Enjoy!
