Thirty-five-year-old William Runyon and forty-one-year-old Tasha Price face felony drug trafficking charges, with bail set at one hundred thousand dollars each.

Four people have been charged following early morning vehicle break-ins in Big Run Borough. State police in Punxsutawney apprehended the suspects in a parking lot, recovering stolen property and a handgun stolen from a pickup truck. Twenty-one-year-old Aaron March faces firearm and felony theft charges, while three co-defendants also face multiple charges.

And the Elk County Retirement Board reports top-tier financial health, recording a weighted average rate of return of over twenty-one percent for the first six months of 2026. Officials say the plan reached a ninety-five-point-nine percent funded ratio, keeping the county's pension fund well above state averages.

While no human cases have been reported in the county, officials are urging residents and local businesses to eliminate standing water and take extra precautions against mosquito bites during early morning and evening hours.

Over in Corning, city officials have awarded a nearly two-and-a-half million dollar paving contract to Wenzel Contractors to upgrade nearly twenty city streets and alleys. City officials say 17th Street will be fully closed to traffic twenty-four/seven during construction, with traffic detoured onto 16th Street. The project is expected to be completed by March 2027.

Down in Parkersburg, Bicentennial Park hosts the return of a signature community event this Saturday night. Formerly known as the Downtown Throwdown, the rechristened "Downtown Brewfest" runs from six to ten p.m. featuring craft beer, food vendors, and live music from the Michael Christopher Band.

And across the river, a Washington County grand jury has handed down indictments against nineteen individuals. Prosecutors say a majority of the true bills involved drug offenses, including felony charges for possession and trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

An Idaho-based veterinary supply company has reached a federal settlement following an investigation into improper prescription drug shipments to a Putnam County veterinarian. Federal authorities say MWI Veterinary Supply failed to flag or question excessive orders of oxycodone and hydrocodone placed by Doctor Clara Ann Mason between 2018 and 2023. Mason already faces a court judgment of nearly nine hundred fifty-seven thousand dollars for mishandling and concealing prescription drug purchases.

Also in Putnam County, Google and 84 Lumber are partnering to fund community upgrades across local schools and public organizations in Buffalo. The corporate funding will support new library kiosks, audio-visual equipment, flooring, and building accessibility for Buffalo schools, the local senior center, and the volunteer fire department. Google has also launched a community portal where residents can submit questions about its planned data center.

In Charleston, municipal leaders from more than two hundred thirty West Virginia cities, towns, and villages are gathered for the annual West Virginia Municipal League Conference.
