Hold on there a second – it turns out Season 9 isn’t over after all! Asked as a favour to take part in RadioSEGA’s Mega Drive Mini 2 marathon, Kevin has a problem having not grown up with a Mega Drive. But he does have plenty to say about the recent attack on animation, and with us also being in spooky season can he somehow kill THREE birds with one stone?

Season Nine of Radio Redux has been kicking around for a lot longer than most seasons. Many years longer in fact. So, with Kevin in need of some time off to take care of important personal matters it’s time to at last “draw a line under nine”. Still, that doesn’t mean the series is going out quietly. Another year, another RadioSEGA WinterFest and though Kevin’s working on something big for the holidays it’s not ready just yet. With the usual time restrictions out of the way for a bit, Kevin is here once again to go over the news out of the Video Game Awards show and chill out with an extended show all about jazzy originals, remakes, remixes and reinterpretations of video game tracks.  So grab your trumpet, some mood lighting and add a bit of smoke to the air as we welcome Radio Redux’s jazz club.

Kevin’s been busy getting a much delayed and very intimate medical check and is trying to take it easy. He does however have left over spooky tracks from the Halloween show, so why not have some more before we enter the festive season? That and he tries to get himself up to speed on the Activision Blizzard situation –  and proceeds to wish he hadn’t.

Prepare for a trip to Hong Kong, an encounter with Uwe Boll, a discussion on the difference between a ‘soundtrack’ and a ‘score’, as well as more than a few facts in this love note to the good, the bad and the ugly of turning bits into box office.

It’s another ‘live-to-tape’ edition of Radio Redux and Kevin’s really pulled this one out at the very last minute! After all there’s plenty to talk about, such as everything that’s happened at Nintendo Direct like Bayonetta 3 actually existing, Kirby getting a new game that totally wasn’t influenced by the global lockdown, Nintendo announcing when they will free Sakurai from his eternal Smash Bros. servitude and more. Not only that, but it turns out Kevin was in the credits to Sonic Colours Ultimate after all! 

That and the usual selection of cool tracks from and influenced by Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues, Offroad Thunder, Fall Guys, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tetris Effect and Pistol Whip. Expanded to be longer than those originally broadcast.
