After ten years an ‘Ultimate’ rebuild of the popular Wii title Sonic Colours (or Colors if you really must) is here – and it’s a bit of a disaster with errors, glitches, save file corruptions and more. Enough to trigger the true Sonic Cycle beginning again – the Sonic community eating itself in rage/despair.

Kevin however is pretty chill on the subject, after all when you’re sitting on the side-lines watching it’s all quite entertaining! I mean, who knew we now had to chart all Sonic games on a plane between not just Classic and Modern… but Casual and Hardcore.

Wait, what?

Always nice when a country spends over $20 billion to give you a playlist – Kevin goes through some of the video game music tracks that were featured in the athlete’s parade at opening ceremony at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. That and he’s gone and won a medal himself, and all it cost him was full use of his ankle. Ouch.

Following a frantic June which saw him not only move house but have to be carted off in an ambulance to hospital for a stay after an nasty infection ravaged his insides and tried to make them become his outsides, Kevin returns to Radio Redux with a new show focusing focusing on hospital/medical games. Oh, and maybe to talk a bit about Steam Deck and Sonic Origins too.

RadioSEGA’s Opposite Week is now the ‘Summer Shakeup’, here to shuffle the hosts of all your favourite shows and it’s sent Kevin off to host The Hidden Palace! So who will host Radio Redux in his stead? Well, after worrying about being pre-empted by Radio Redux since it’s return, it’s now Rexy’s turn to run the titles in a frenetic live show that may just end up featuring a remix… or two.

It’s one thing to celebrate your mascot, it’s another thing to celebrate him by wiping him off the face of the planet. Mario’s “death” via Nintendo’s hand is surely an odd one, so Kevin emerges from his nest of chocolate egg wrappers and welcomes you to a special Easter Sunday memorial episode of Radio Redux.

At short notice Kevin is here with a scratch episode of Radio Redux to discuss the pros and cons of being “on holiday” and touch a little on what’s been going on with the Sonic voice actors before the results of a poll shape the next show. He’s also been working on the TSSZ archive project. But after experiencing a loss after nearly experiencing another, and having a lot of things on his mind as a result, he’s got some important things to say about the connections we all share and how that ties in with his two weeks away. It turns out the episode number might be pretty poignant in that regard, too. Prepare for feels.

Since RadioSEGA’s remix show is currently off-season, Kevin takes it upon himself to rectify any withdrawal symptoms they might have with with 90 minutes of game remixes in styles and from game series all over the map. We all have leftovers after Christmas and New Year, but very few people can make a radio show out of them. Here’s a new Radio Redux full of planned tracks that for one reason or another missed the cut so far in Season 9. It’s the show after Christmas, but Kevin’s not had the best of times over the last couple of days and with being alone for the holidays too is struggling to find any shred of seasonal joy. Maybe some wintery video game music and an attempt to cook a Christmas Dinner can help the situation?

Another year, another Radio Redux at WinterFest but Kevin’s annual ignoring of any winter or festive themed music will no longer be tolerated by RadioSEGA’s management and they’ve sent some “visitors” to make sure this Scrooge-like behaviour is taken care of once and for all.
