Radiowilderlive.com thanks some of its Best Of Business fans and advertisers this week on the show. We have a lot of Self Storage listeners and after this year’s winners were announced, we wanted to give a shout out to those who won Self Storage’s most prestigious award as presented by Inside Self Storage. The show is a real rock ‘n’ roller this week because you will rock when you play and listen to: The Record Company, Fitz &The Tantrums, Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, and Alice Cooper! The “Hurdy Gurdy Man” sung by Donovan is referencing an instrument created in the 10th century. Bet you didn’t know that! “We don’t Talk Anymore” by Cliff Richard who is the UK’s number three top seller of all time behind The Beatles and Elvis. He also had 14 #1’s in UK and holds the distinction of having two versions of the same song charting number one. Give a listen to Cliff, you might want to pick up some of those #1’s. Thanks as always for listening and Capt’n Dave says, ”Enjoy the show because I did”!

Yes, it’s time to pay back the Sun for the two fabulous months of May and June. One 100-degree day in May and a few in June, but well below average! Now the Sun says pay me back, so Phoenix is in the middle of a two-week smoker averaging about 115 daily! Yeah, baby!! Do I look worried? No, because I am writing this post with my air buds on, listening to sexy Susan Tedeschi singing ’Do I look worried to You.’ Beautiful. We were surprised by a request from an English listener to play ‘Morning Train’ by Sheena Easton and realized that in over 250 shows and over 5,000 songs, we had never played one of her songs. Wow! What an illustrious career she had! So tune in and catch her and help count her trophies and awards with us!1.Cool Jerk is featured in the Deuces with the Capitals being covered by the Go-Gos. I can see Atomic’s Rick Beal and the all-time Self Storage mover, Carl Touhey, doing the dance and maybe singing along. New stuff from Ricky Byrd and out of the 80’s brand new from Matchbox Twenty's ’Don’t Get Me Wrong.’ How about Courtney Love and Ginger Wildcat doing a powerhouse duet? Come hang out with us maybe as early as late tonight or early Thursday am because” T-Bone Anderson’ likes to get the show up early because he likes to sing along going to his castle!

74 million Americans were grilling on the 4th. We grilled Burgers (85%), Steaks (80%), Hot Dogs (79%), and Chicken (73%). 150 million Hot Dogs were consumed (that’s what we had). Most of them came from Iowa! Americans only bought 190 million pounds of red meat or Pork for the 4th. Most of these were produced in Texas, Nebraska, or Kansas. 750 million pounds of Chicken is purchased leading up to the 4th. That Chicken most likely came from Georgia, Arkansas, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, or Texas. 5% of all a year's beer consumption happens on the 4th, which is about 68.3 million cases of beer! Corn, potatoes, and other veggies are the most popular side dishes.
Hopefully, you listened to radiowilderlive.com while you were on the grill! We played some great grilling' music. Shout out to our forefathers for winning America our Independence. We won't ever take it for granted!!
The last day in June brings us to the last two KC Invaders - Danny and Denise! We enjoyed every minute of music that the KC gang brought to the show! What does WSOP mean? It means the World Series of Poker, and that’s where our DJ found himself last week. After a 16-year hiatus, Harry returned and really enjoyed playing in four events. Unfortunately, he didn’t fare nearly as well as the last time he played and needs to get back to playing music instead of poker! We have a great show planned for the last day of June, including two brand new artists leading off the show - Niall Horan doing ’Heaven’ and straight in from New York City, Joy Buzzer. With ’I wanna scream' by The Beatles and Smithereens to partner up in our covers segment and out of the Rock n’ roll radio play-only collection, Dale Hawkins does the original version of Susie Q. Shout outs go out to Inside Self Storage as they will be announcing the award winners for the industries most prestigious honors, The Best of Business champions!! Thanks as always for listening!
The "KC Invasion" continues with Carrie and John sending their song requests so our Radio Wilder fans can enjoy! When you live in Phoenix, you know that when the longest day of the year hits, every day after is shorter! It may only be mere seconds, but then they turn into minutes, and finally, you are in our heavenly seven (7) months of the year!! Yahoo!. Brand new Noel Gallagher(from Oasis), leading the show off with Harry's second favorite Syracuse Grad after his dad, Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground. Following Lou, we have a great Deuces for you. Blondie garnered a number #1 hit with The Tide is High in 1980. Do you know who did the original? Find out on the show! Matt Gloyd asked us to give him some Fitz and the Tantrums and check out crazy rocker Harlis Sweetwater with his 'Won't be Satisfied' hot off the press and the Del Lords with their brand new 'Get Tough.' Shout outs to The Toy Storage Nation after their very successful show this past weekend, and a RIP to Poker Legend.Doyle Brunson. We will miss him.
We have been excited and thrilled with the folks from the KC Invasion. I was so thrilled that I put in the wrong song for Ron from The Invasion! I think it was when Gerry, my new teammate, who is, of course, a majestic Bald Eagle, began to fly around the Camelback Studio that I screwed up. Anyway, that’s my story. However, I will give Ron his own special spot to end either RWL#267, The Longest Day, or RWL#268, WSOP. Sorry, Ron! We did get Bambi’s right and made sure to fill the show with lots of good music. Brand new to our stage, check out Grainne Duffy. Sly, the Family Stone, and the Animals join Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix. Plus, one of our favorite chick bands, The Ravonettes from Denmark, is covering ’My Boyfriends Back' in the Deuces. Brand new Greta Van Fleet and Kylie Minogue help turn the lineup. So if you have tried to find our app in the Apple Store and couldn’t, it’s back and ready to be downloaded! Shoutouts to The Storage Group and Toy Storage Nation for their upcoming show this Friday in Boulder.
The KC Invasion has begun! Radio Wilder’s new pals and fans, Ray and Tammy Torres, lead off Friday’s show with a triple family request - back to back to back. This will be a first on the Radio Wilder show! This will start an unprecedented nine-request reach out by the fine folks from Kansas City! We love it! The show also stars The Five Americans, John Mellencamp, and Bruce Springsteen doing Wasted Days together. Weezer and ELO hang out in the Deuces, plus Little Big Town, Dirty Honey, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, and Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz. It’s an exciting line-up headlined and highlighted by our pals from KC! You don’t want to miss it! Shoutouts this week go to Copper Self Storage, SSCG, and Tony Naccarato for his fabulous eggs and peppers super recipe. Also, good luck to the folks at the Company who are now on the Carnivore diet plan!!
