  • THE MARKETPLACE OF PASSION & CULTURE WITH MIMOZA

Mimoza Cena-Sokoli & her husband, Beqir Sokoli, had a vision that started from their own experience of trying to connect to their roots and plan a wedding from their home in Adelaide, a world away from their heritage and cultural home in Kosovo.

Finding that they were running around like headless chooks in the months leading up to their wedding, they thought about how wonderful it would be to be able to connect to local vendors, designers and events crew from abroad and plan the wedding of their dreams.

Shortly after their wedding, they began working on putting together a wonderful and reliable resource that would support brides & grooms from across the world to connect to their culture and homes to source the finest quality, locally produced goods and services right at their fingertips.

From their initial days, My DASMA Shop World, has grown into a formal wear and design revolution which aims to connect the bridal, pageant and formal wear designers of the Balkans to a world-wide consumer market.

The quality and passion that goes into every piece is unparalleled and offers Australian's (and a worldwide market) an opportunity to shop an incredible range of designer garments from the comfort of their living rooms.

  • LET'S NOT OVERLOOK THE POWER OF DISABILITY

In this episode we speak to the powerhouse woman that is Raegan Cavagnino. Raegan was born vision impaired but it wasn't until she crawled off a deck as a baby that she was finally diagnosed as legally blind and those around her were fully aware of her condition. Raegan speaks about the perceptions of others about her experience and how assumptions about her disability have caused bullying and other nasty and socially limiting behaviours. Reagan speaks openly about the difficulties that being legally blind has caused when raising her children and some of the heartache she felt when making comparisons of herself to others and their achievements. Despite her barriers and negative experiences, Reagan is empowered to inspire people just like her to go after the life that they want and not let others perceptions of your ability define your success.
