Random Acts of Comics

A few things happen in this episode. First, Doug talks about a few things he witnessed during his first Baltimore Comic Con. Secondly, Todd gives Doug permission to not hold back about the things he saw during his first Baltimore Comic Con. See if you can tell which happened first.

*includes a moment of Randy Newman's "Baltimore"

*Correction. The comic Doug is talking about is "Mermaids Guide To Picking Up Men" by Malone McDonald. Check Malone out here!

Matt Anderson — I didn't know Matt; he's a friend of Doug's and Doug kept saying, "Ya gotta have Matt on! Ya gotta talk to Matt!" And I'll say it here; Doug was right. I did have to talk with Matt. About Doug. I get it now. Also, Matt wrote the cool comic White Picket Fences about flying saucers landing in 1950s America.

Dan Jurgens — When I was s kid I was very shy and had a crush on a girl I could never ever talk to. I also read The Warlord comic by Mike Grell and would fantasize about being it's hero, Travis Morgan, trapped in the inner-Earth world of Skartaris and rescuing that cute girl with nothing but my sword and my bravery. This really has nothing to do with Dan Jurgens except, years later, Dan took over both writing and drawing that book. He did a great job. I just wanted to tell you about the girl.

This episode features a moment from "Can't Hardly Wait" by The Replacements

Jim Starlin popped by the studio to talk to Todd about his kickstarter campaign for Dreadstar Vs. Dreadstar.

Todd Nauck -

Here's something you didn't know about Todd Nauck; he's got a secret identity. True! No, I'm not gonna tell you what it is, then it wouldn't be a secret! But I will tell you this; it involves a costume. No, not a superhero costume! It's a costume from a play. No, I'm not gonna tell you what play, that would give it away! Okay, it's from 'Les Mis."

Ahoy, gang! We're thrilled to announce that Season 2 of Random Acts Of Comics will post on the Monday morning of October 6th (2025) **No Spoilers**

The Random Acts Of Comics Superman Spectacular!

The mooks huddled for a special episode before Season 2 drops to talk about James Gunn's Superman. Know this now : MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

If you haven't seen the film yet, do not listen to this episode until you do.

A couple of quick production notes. The service we used to make this episode happen played hell with our audio. What sounds like quick cuts in the beginning was the Riverside platform catching up with itself from time to time. Also, every time we all collectively laughed, we overloaded the app, which is kind of funny. We'll use a different app next time. Anyway, enjoy the episode and remember that Season 2 is coming out soon!

The boys are backish in town.

A random hiatus is imminent.
