As they traverse the endless landscapes, in search of the occasional kiosk or penguin, there's plenty of time to be spent thinking about music and all the wonders that can be found within the aural world.

We somewhat conveniently crossed paths with Ryan Brokenshire and ever since we've been hanging on his every word. After spending hours listening to his sounds on repeat, we wanted to find out a little bit more about the man behind the music and what exactly it was that shaped his lush sounds. We're not going to suggest that having experience as a carpet worker in an auction house has been the shaping of Circadian Rhythm's talents but we're not going to rule it out either. He's got a rather distinctive style to his sounds and he must have picked it up somewhere, why not at the auction house? The Swedish music-maker has signed up to Mr Tophat's label Junk Yard Connections to release his Chateau EP. Few people can honestly say they're living their dreams yet Felix Göllner seems to be doing a pretty good job of it. As well as working for Kompakt, he gets to spend his weekends behind the decks putting records together and making people smile under the name @Flexonaut. He's lining up to play Berlin's Panoramabar for the first time next month on 7th November so, to help add to all the excitement, we asked him to provide us with this week's Ransom Note mix and we had a good long chat with him...

Following on from my 'Zoon van snooK presents: Oddtronica' DJ sets in the UK and Europe, and subsequent monthly radio show of the same name on Bloop London, I wanted to do a similar thing but shorter, with no talking, and being less constrained by my own self-imposed genre brief. Think ‘The Freak Zone’ but a little more accessible!!

When I was asked to contribute a podcast for The Ransom Note - a magazine that I respected and always sought recommendations from - the 'Zoon van snooK presents: OddCasts' idea was born.
