Ransom Note

The letters 'TW' could stand for all manner of things. Perhaps they refer to that rarely-visited theme park designed specifically for those among us that tower over others (Tall World), or that new magazine that's specifically focused on the actions of the rear-ends of cats and dogs (Tails Weekly) or maybe it's a tribute to our very own Tonka's Friday round-up of the what he's been up to (Tonka's Week).

While we'll never know the true answer, as we haven't really looked for it in all honesty, we can enjoy delving into our own minds to come up with all sorts of peculiar word combinations as we fill our ears with this incredible infectious remix from West Norwood Cassette Library of the new sounds from Kevin McPhee. Whatever it is these letters stand for, we know that you're going to have a good time when you stick this in your lugs.

Dive into this chapter from the aural library.

We're not going to pretend that we know the slightest thing about Helsinki's underground music scene EXCEPT for the fact that it clearly must be on fire at the moment as Stiletti-Ana has burst out from the scene and into our ears, arms and hearts. Having been picked up by I'm A Cliché for a mini-LP (didn't they used to be called EPs?) release, the Finnish mastermind has kindly donated his time and mammoth skills to provide us with this week's corker of a Ransom Note Mix.

Delve in to his aural world here as we quiz him to learn more about the man behind the mix...

Remember when getting something for free meant you had something to pop in your pocket and take home with you after a long day of playing outside in the glorious sunshine? Alright, we're exaggerating for effect here but we all surely remember that wonderful feeling that only comes when something hasn't cost you a penny and you're able to hold it firmly in your hands and call it yours.

Sadly the day of the physical world seems to be tearing away from us BUT there are still plenty of free things to be had that are well worth getting your hands on - such as this beauty of a track from @dave-hargadon which you're able to download for less than a penny right here. It might not be quite the same as having something in your hands but we reckon you'll love this just as much...

Sometimes all you have to do is reach out and a friend will be there. In fact, the best friends are the ones that you don't even have to contact and they're already knocking at your door with something to put a smile on your face. That's pretty much what happened to us with @demitri_afriend as he came knocking on the Soundcloud entrance to R$N Towers, beckoning our light to shine down upon him and, without a hesitation, it wilfully did so because of the quality of the mix he'd brought along to show how much of a friend he truly was.

Tune in to the mix as you read on and learn about what it takes to be aFriend...

The worlds of surrealism and dadaism are lost on most people - they're so often dismissed as being 'a bit weird' or for 'not making sense' by those among us who have no time for the likes of anything that doesn't follow a particularly obvious pattern. However, somewhat confusingly @JackPattern is a big fan of all things surreal and his new sounds that make up the debut release on @xxxthelabel are a glimpse into the wonders of the surreal.

We thought we'd try out something a little different with Mr Pattern and his glorious aural offering so we ask him to come up with a poem consisting only of letters within his name. Because we can, that's why. Have a read of what he came up with - we think it's rather good;

FAULT DIZZINESS CAN DO STUFF:

CAN EAT A TEA.

CAN TAKE A CAKE.

CAN JAR A CAPTAN.

CAN ATTACK A TERRA.

CANT NAP A CAT.

CAN EARN A PAR-T.

CAN JACK AN EAR.

CAN CRACK A PATTERN.

TAKE TAT NACKTE TANTE!

Here are your sounds then...

Who would ever want to be a boxer? Whether you're a lightweight, heavyweight or one of those other weights that frankly no-one outside of the sporting world understands your job is essentially to be punched repeatedly in the face. Of course, that's only if you're not the great fighter in your category as if you're able to avoid getting punched when there are so many fists flying at your face then you're probably pretty agile.

Athleticism doesn't come easy at R$N Towers so we'd only be able to get a few jabs in. On the subject of jabs, we've got some ace new sounds from @jabrumusic to share with you as his Say To My Soul EP drops today on T. Williams' @todaytomorrowrecords . Here's an absolute corker of a track to get you excited about the release.
