Reflecting on my fitness journey, from the day I looked in the mirror 5 years ago after gaining the freshman 15 and decided I didn't want to feel or look that way anymore. Your approach will evolve overtime, it's a constant refinement process. Don't take shortcuts. And it's okay to fuck up...it's called LIFE. So enjoy the process, but keep going.
Okay ya'll, let's talk about doing hard things and why it's important. Whether it's becoming more disciplined in your lifestyle or finally upholding your boundaries in relationships, it's difficult. But that's what makes it SO damn rewarding. Stop diminishing yourself, your values, and your needs because "it's easy". The difficulty brings the joy, adversity breeds a beast.
Our first time sitting down and talking, and we could have talked forever!! We talked about alcohol sabbaticals, meditation, morning routines, consistency, working a 9-5, yoga (and my dreadful experience with power yoga). We ended with talking about how life can really be a testament to your growth - realizing how you would've handled a situation a year ago vs now.
Calling myself out for lack of consistency - and challenging myself to become more consistent. Asking myself "how bad do I want it?". Becoming a better version of yourself means looking in the mirror. You can't grow until you face your shit, you can't grow UNLESS you face your shit. Take accountability, responsibility, and control of your own life because no one else is going to do it for you (nor should they).
Anybody else feel like the older you get the less bullshit you're willing to tolerate? It's okay to outgrow people. Growth is not linear and not the same for everyone - different stages, different phases, different timing. Text is the worst form of conversation.
We all talk to ourselves, at least we should. Or talk to someone else. Or write it down. Just get it OUT!
Also, emotions are weird...but valid.
Just two twenty-somethings talking our shit about growth, reciprocity, cutting people off, serial daters and everything in between. *Disclaimer* We are not experts and do not have it all figured out...just probably more than some.
Also her dog, Jr. makes an appearance from time to time :)
ENJOY!!!
The title basically says it all. Control what you can control. My ideal morning. Don't ask me what my tattoos mean, but I'll tell you if you actually care. The self love journey has been a hard and rewarding one. Introspection is key.
Aaaaaand we're ripping off the podcasting bandaid with a solo episode ranting about all things humanity. I talk briefly about my internal struggle over the past few months, why it's important to give yourself (and other people) grace, and allowing yourself to be human! Because, after all, we are ONLY HUMAN. I am just here to spread any light, love, and perspective with things I've learned on my own journey. Excited to start sharing with you guys again. Xo
Believe it or not, this was our first time meeting. We had no shortage of things to say and bounced around ideas from education, personal growth, self love, and figuring this life shit out. Listen to us navigate our way through each other's thoughts and epiphanies as young adults. Lots of love and laughs in this episode to last a lifetime.
