“It’s Midsommar on a plantation - and that’s Goop”

On this special “White Women Are Wildin’” episode, we are joined by Tim Jolliff to review Season 2 of Big Little Lies. First, we rant about the cultural appropriation brand farm of Goop, and a white woman who believes she invented the bonnet. Then we dive into the shallow, crashing waves of Big Little Lies and have a deep convo about abuse and victim blaming, why Meryl was truly so terrifying, if Renata was the breakout star of Season 2, and why Jane wore her Monterey Bay Aquarium polo to the courtroom.

Allison and Katie discuss the impending doom of the CATS remake and rant briefly about the inanity of peak white women Alyssa Milano and Scarlett Johannson. Then they inexplicably decide to eat a TON OF FRIED FOOD to review the Fast Food industry. They contemplate hard-hitting existential questions like: Whatever happened to the Cajun McChicken? Why would anyone order a gordita when chalupas exist? Why are we still wearing pants?

Allison and Katie dig into the data on this episode reviewing the mega e-commerce conglomerate, Amazon. But first they discuss e-bikes and minor injuries, leaving the toilet seat up, and the potential butch erasure of the new live action Mulan. Then they take a deep dive into the Jeff Bezos empire, discuss what makes Amazon so particularly evil, and what we can do to fight back against this Seattle-based behemoth.

On this ep, Allison and Katie cover the hot topics of summer: why adults in recreational sports leagues are so competitive, who the most scorching star of the Bon Appetit Youtube channel is, why white people continue to ruin potlucks with under-seasoned food, and begrudgingly dip their toes into the “controversial” casting of the Little Mermaid. Then they review Women’s Soccer and discuss the World Cup finals, the roasting of Piers Morgan, the USWNT’s continued fight for equal pay, and pitch a romcom starring power couple Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird.

In an Anti-Vax extravaganza, Allison and Katie rant about the first round of 2020 Democratic debates (apparently Marianne Williamson will cure you with love), catching a summer bug, and whether Lady Gaga will say “I want your disease” to Bradley Cooper. Then they review the endlessly terrifying anti-vaccination “movement”, why anti-vax propaganda spreads, and what we can do to prevent anti-vaxxers from propagating.

First ep! Allison and Katie rant about Meryl’s choices on Big Little Lies, an odd encounter at a UPS store, and then review the cultural event that happens every June, PRIDE. They dive into how Taylor Swift and other corporate monoliths are co-opting Pride and what that infusion of marketing and mass media may mean for the queer community.
