Rare Breeds has hit a milestone it’s time for Episode 50 and the universe made sure we earned it.

This week: a thorn tree nicknamed the “Tree of Death” sent Brandon to the hospital for three days, and he was more worried about the brisket than his own hand. Meanwhile two kids sprinted past a nurses’ station, a golf cart came home with a bent axle, and there’s a version of that story Karsyn isn’t allowed to tell Caitlin just yet. 

Then we got to the advice letters. A man who may have been in a three-way relationship with his dog. A guy who kicked a hungry girl out of his house and then ordered food. A woman who was told she should play dumb so a man could feel needed. We have thoughts.

We also played a new game, Rarely Right (our rare breed take on the Newlywed Game), which involved raising shoes on camera and finding out who gets kicked out of bars. Plus NASCAR Jail and Bail, your questions, and why the show is called Rare Breeds in the first place.

It’s Halloween on Rare Breeds, so you know we had to come in dressed up. Caitlin is a nun, and Karsyn is Caitlin: lawn chair, Stanley full of wine, giant vape, the whole look. Fair warning, this one is better on video.

We’re also sitting next to a skeleton with no name, so help us out in the comments.

Logan’s last day at the office meant one final prank on Caitlin. It took a week and a half of planning, a fake lunch, a full set of racing contingency decals, and a lot of Saran Wrap. Then she had to drive through town and pick up her kids like that. The reaction videos are everything.

Then it’s Messy Draft, zombie apocalypse edition. We each pick a team, and somebody gets picked purely to be the sacrifice. Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin make the list, and of course so does Wilson.

Last up is Text Him or Wreck Him. We’re going through some of the best Reddit stories including a bar crawl he didn’t want her at, a girl who got a lot more than she bargained for in LA, a hidden camera plugged into a wall, a woman who asked to take a bite of someone else’s taco, and a grown man scared of Monster House. Plus, Halloween decorating, couples costume ideas, and an unplanned coyote hunting story.

Karsyn bought two bottles of wine -- for $77 each. Turns out Total Wine sells the same thing for $14; and the guy who sold it to her didn’t say a word.

Then Caitlin tells her story of walking into a gravity room completely sober and has not been right since. We’re talking permanent vertigo, an elderly couple that looked like they were escaping the Titanic, and a pregnant woman nobody warned.

Since it’s October, we went through every way we’d die in a horror movie. We both try to talk to the killer. One of us would sleep through the whole thing and honestly, we just don’t do well with people trying to tell us what to do.

Then we’re off to Feral Feud and trying to figure out the most popular answers to burning questions like: what guys lie about on a first date, what you hope your date doesn’t notice (an ex’s name tattooed on you, anyone?), and the best ghost dating bio. We got “no baggage, I’m already buried” way too late.

Two fun ones on Text Him or Wreck Him: He told her in the car that he hooked up with the girl who just hugged her goodbye. And a second date that ended with a guy peeing in the street. One text, one wreck – you might be surprised about this one.

Next, we’re getting into more serious conversations like being married and sleeping in separate rooms. Genius or a red flag? Apparently younger couples are trying “sleep divorces,” and we have thoughts.

Would you do a sleep divorce? They’re also revisiting Karsyn’s rule for men to keep sim racing rigs out of the living room after some feedback disagreeing (shockingly it wasn’t a woman pushing back on this).

Next week is the Halloween episode. Costumes are happening --- but Caitlin is already leaning into a Jack Sparrow vibe on this episode, you’ll see.

Caitlin walks us through how two sisters ended up married to two brothers, we read the best comments out loud, and then we read her husband’s ‘official statement.’ Yes, he wrote one and it involves a brisket.

Karsyn Elledge and Caitlin Waltrip are back at it this week for another episode of Rare Breeds, and as always, they’re here for a good time. In honor of the start of Spooky Season, Karsyn, in true Karsyn fashion, gives Caitlin a jump scare that nobody saw coming. After that, they’re diving into their usual favorites, starting off with a Messy Draft. This week has us asking the question – what are some things in a man’s house that instantly earns him brownie points (surprisingly, Fireball wasn’t on the list, but a hairbrush is). Next, they put on their thinking caps and play a few rounds of Feral Feud – where we ask them questions other people have answered and see how many they can get right. In Text Him or Wreck Him, they’re weighing in on a situation that left us all a bit uneasy – but of course Karsyn has her own story involving a shirt, a sleepover, and a DM from a guy’s ex about said shirt – you’ll want to hear this one. They also weigh in on a man commenting on a woman’s drink choice and the response from the guy who was buying. 

Finally, they wrap up with some listener questions on Ask Rare Breeds, and we find out what their perfect autumn day looks like, and of course, Taylor Swift’s new album. This is a fun one so be sure to give it a listen if you need an escape from your busy life. We promise, nothing serious happens on this show!

This week on Rare Breeds Caitlin Waltrip and Karsyn Elledge have a new segment for the show: “One of Us Has to Go.” The rules are simple – they’re given situations and they have to decide between the two of them who would be the one to go. From talking their way out of trouble with the cops to getting past a bouncer at a club, there’s plenty to debate. On this week’s Messy Draft, we’re planning our dream dive bars including our house specialty drinks – spoiler alert – Caitlin’s involves Fireball and…Fireball.

On Text Him or Wreck Him we hear the story of a woman who says her boyfriend of five years still hasn’t said the three magic words – you can already guess if this is a text or wreck. Finally, they’re wrapping things up with Ask Rare Breeds – we already know all about Karsyn’s tattoos but Caitlin’s are a different story – we’re finding out which ones are her favorites and Karsyn wants to know why she doesn’t have a friendship tattoo in her honor.

Karsyn’s in for a birthday surprise on this episode of Rare Breeds and things are going to get rowdy as Caitlin Waltrip and the Dirty Mo Media Crew start things off with a bang! This week Emotional Purse involves a hilarious … and awkward voicemail message which you’ll just have to hear to understand. Karsyn tells the story of how she almost (but didn’t) run out on a $300 bar tab – she’s blaming the espresso martinis.

Sometimes “Ignorance Avenue” is the best place to be… full of bliss, a glass of wine, and this episode of Rare Breeds. Karsyn Elledge and Caitlin Waltrip open their Emotional Purses where Karsyn learns a valuable lesson – SEC schools simply couldn’t handle her.

We don’t tend to get embarrassed, but in this week’s Messy Draft, we detail things we’d do if embarrassment simply didn’t exist. The folks in Feral Feud might’ve needed that lack of embarrassment, especially a farmer whose bad eyesight led him to an unfortunate milking incident.
