Memorial Day is a time for family get togethers, barbecues and general fun. But we need to remember to commemorate and pay tribute to those people that risked everything to serve in our armed forces. To protect this country and each one of us. Not to mention those that gave their lives. With the January 6th Insurrection Commission Bill being voted down is it time to rethink the Filibuster? Most Democrats think so but Democratic Senator Joe Manchin has been a stumbling block. We need to seriously look at ending the Filibuster or significantly altering it.
On January 6th, 2021 we had the worst attack on the U.S. Capital since the Civil War. The Republicans would like to move on and forget about it. So the Senate Republicans blocked the vote on a Commission to investigate it. They might think it's over but it's not. It's just starting. Similar to the Solar Winds hack attack awhile back more than 150 U.S. government agencies were just hacked by the Russians. They had free reign under Trump. But there's a new sheriff in town. Joe Biden will be doling out sanctions and meeting with Russian leader Putin.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance has convened a Grand Jury to look into the Trump Organization. This is a big deal. This has never happened to a former president. This promises to be an historic event. What you need to understand is what it really means. So give a listen and let's look at it.
People often complain that our problems are all the fault of the media. Well while they aren't the only ones at fault the are at least partially responsible. Both Republicans and Democrats claim to want bipartisanship on the Infrastructure Bill. I mean who doesn't want an Infrastructure Bill? But the Republicans have also said they will block anything Democrats do. How do you negotiate on that basis? When do you stop trying to bipartisani?
Most of us learn the concerns and consequences of lying from our mothers when we are 4 or 5 years old. However our leaders, our government and our society are replete with lies. This is no small thing because it is the biggest threat in our country today. We need to talk about it.
So you think the past four years was the worst we've seen and believe we will never get through it? Not hardly and we will make it through to the other side. Democrats want a commission to investigate the January 6th insurrection but the Republicans, not so much. Now Republicans are red-faced over the audit in Arizona. North Carolina DA says the Andrew Brown murder was justified. So...we need to talk.
We all have had to deal with family or friends that are Trumpers. Many of us have lost relationships. I have one such situations. Joel Greenburg pled out in Florida today. We know that Greenburg implicated Matt Gaetz and things don't look good for young Matty. But we also have to consider that a number of Florida Republicans are also being investigated. This could get messy and potentially devastating for the Florida's GOP.
It's a full show so give a listen. I encourage questions and comments. Leave a voice message on Anchor.fm or send me an email at [email protected]
Finally, after more than a year with Covid19 getting our country back to normal is insight. Fully vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks in or outdoors. In New York there's been some signs that an indictment for Donald Trump might be imminent. But will the state of Florida have something to say about it?
The Republican Party stripped Liz Cheney of all her leadership power in the U.S. House of Representatives. They are punishing her for standing by truth and bucking against Trumpian ideology. What they don't understand is that they've opened a Pandora's Box and are on the way to destroying their own party.
Then there's an Oversight Hearing happening in the House of Representatives concerning the January 6th, Insurrection at the U.S. Capital. Republican deniers are exposing just how crazy they really are. Give a listen and don't hesitate giving some input.
I started this podcast with every intention of talking about news and politics. I acknowledged Mother's Day and then I went of on a tangent. I talked about the experience of finding my mother after she past away. Then helping my grandmother move on to the other side. This isn't a paranormal podcast but it was my experience and I think it was compelling. Give it a listen and tell me what you think.
