Today, pastor Ray Bentley begins a fascinating study of God's heavenly messengers, the world of angels. I pray that you are able, by faith and through the Word of God, to begin seeing the invisible, to experience that that world of angelic activity that is happening all around us. It'll be comforting for you to know that you're not alone, that you are getting assistance.
From the story of the woman caught in adultery. Pastor Ray Bentley says the Bible shows clear evidence of the way Jesus cares deeply for sinners like us. He that is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone. When Jesus said those words, you know what he said to the woman? He knew her, and he loved her. He knew her, and he loved her. He forgave her. But then he gave her a challenge, and he said, Go and don't sin anymore.
Some people think God is impersonal and distant. Pastor Ray Bentley says the Lord is more personal than anything. This world has to offer. The world sees you as a thing. You are a number. You are not really significant. But God sees you as a person. I know you, and I know you by name. That's awesome that he knows your name spread.
Today on Maranatha Radio. Pastor Ray Bentley gives us a glimpse of our future as believers, and a snapshot of God's glory from Ezekiel. Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north. A great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself, and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst. That is a description of the glory of God spread.
Inside the church. There are good examples of Christian living and not so good examples. But pastor Ray Bentley says we shouldn't compare ourselves to others. We should set our sights on Christ. Jesus never said, follow my people. He always said, follow me. He is not asking you to be like somebody else. He is not asking you to follow any man. He's asking you to follow me.
Sometimes, unbelievers can act a lot like Christians. But pastor Ray Bentley points out, sometimes Christians can be hypocritical and act like unbelievers. How many of you have ever in your life been a hypocrite? Raise your hand. You'd better raise them. We're all hypocrites. And yet I have heard people say. Well, I won't go to church anymore because there are too many hypocrites, and yet that's the whole point. The church is a place for imperfect people
The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Pastor Ray Bentley points out where faith can be found and how it is a catalyst for divine action. Jesus always and only works where there is faith. If there is no faith, he doesn't work. Not that he can't work, but that he won't work without our participation. He wants us to trust in him. Faith is found at the feet of Jesus.
The Lord is looking for self-sacrificing disciples. Pastor Ray Bentley says it summed up well in the words of author and well-known missionary Amy Carmichael. I hear him call, come, follow. That was all. My gold grew dim. My heart went after him. I rose and followed. And that was all. Would you not follow if you heard Jesus call?
Following Christ has a cost. Salvation is free. Discipleship is expensive. Pastor Ray Bentley wants us to be prepared. The Christian life is not easy, but it is simple. It's just Jesus. Every book of the Bible is about Jesus. Every prophecy, every verse, every word, every letter, every dotting of the eye, and every crossing of the T. It's all about Jesus spreading.
Today on Maranatha Radio. Pastor Ray Bentley brings important insights from the story of two discouraged men on the road to Emmaus. The problem with these two men is that they are walking in the wrong direction. They have their backs to the cross. They have their backs to the holy city of Jerusalem. They are defeated. They did not realize while they are walking down the road of life that Jesus was walking beside them
