When I invited Nikki onto the pod, it was because I wanted to know what it was like for her - a professional acrobat and aerialist - to go through the experience of pregnancy and early postpartum. But, as you'll hear in this chat, Nikki's journey to becoming a mother was far more complex than meets the eye. Just before Nikki found out she was pregnant with her son Mason, she lost her dad to cancer. Navigating pregnancy as an athlete is one thing, but adding in handling crippling grief? It's unimaginable, and Nikki shares some real insights on life and moving forward with me in this conversation.

Of course, we also talk about how Nikki maintained her athleticism throughout pregnancy, and what's it's been like to recover and rebuilt postpartum.

In this episode, I'm thrilled to be joined by Safeena Ahmad. A mum, a teacher, and a Muslim woman, Safeena is someone who I was very eager to talk to. I was curious to know whether her faith impacts her experience of womanhood and motherhood.

As someone who's never had much exposure to religious communities, I'm not afraid to admit that my knowledge of the Muslim way of life was extremely limited before this chat with Safeena. So, I approached this one with genuine curiosity - please be kind if (and when) I mess up terminology or seem completely uneducated. I am a big believer in messy conversations being far superior to no conversations at all.

• How modesty shapes the Muslim way of life
• How it feels to be stereotyped and feel so visible everywhere you go
