Nova Scotia's new Accessibility Act aims to make the whole province, rural and urban, inclusive and barrier-free by 2030.
Part of that challenge involves addressing barriers in the built environment.
When we think of making buildings accessible, we often think about entrance ramps and elevators.
But the ability to enter and maneuver through a building, doesn't necessarily guarantee the ability to exit that building in the case of an emergency.
"Project Everybody Out" aims to raise awareness about the need for buildings to have a plan, and the necessary equipment, to make sure that everybody can evacuate quickly and safely.
