This week, after discussing some highlights from A Lim Kim’s huge victory at the US Women’s Open, the guys reflect on a tumultuous 2020 and discuss some of our favourite moments from the year. We also talk about some stories that we’re looking forward to following in 2021 and some goals we’re making for the upcoming year.

What a great week of golf it was! In this episode, Eric and Brent discuss DJ’s historic win where he set the new Masters scoring record on his way to earning his first Green Jacket. We also talk through all of the big names on the leaderboard, as well as some surprises, disappointments and overall memorable moments from the weekend.

In a special Friday edition of the pod, we recap all the action from Rounds 1 and 2 (or what we’ve seen so far) from Augusta. We talk about the stacked leaderboard, what surprises we’ve seen so far, and all of the big names including DJ, JT, Tiger and Rory, as well as surprising Round 2 from Bryson and the implications for his bomb-and-gouge strategy. We also talk about what’s at stake for the weekend and who is on the bubble of the historically low cut line.

Finally, we are in a position where all 4 Canadians have a legit shot to make the cut and see weekend action. From Mike Weir being just below the cut line, to Corey Conners’ massive Round 2 score of -5 through 16 holes, things are looking great for the Canadian delegation.

It’s 7 months later than we hoped, but Masters week has finally arrived! This episode, Brent, Eric and John are joined by friend-of-the-pod Eric Patterson (@EPatGolf), golf editor at The Score to help set up what the first ever Fall Masters. The guys talk about some of the changes you can expect to see and then break down the field, getting into details about what to expect from all of the big names. Will Bryson’s distance be enough to out-muscle Augusta? Will Rory finally get his career Grand Slam? Or will DJ keep on rolling and earn his first Green Jacket this weekend?

We also talk betting strategy and get into who may be over- and under-valued based on the current odds and help make some picks for your office pools that could set you apart from the field.

One story that is sure to be a common them throughout the 2021 season is the Ryder Cup. With approximately one year to go, we take a deep dive into the potential teams by evaluating the current standings, offering up our own captain’s picks and making our predictions on who is in, and who is out for the prestigious international competition. We also discuss which players need to have big years in order to secure their spot, and who is in jeopardy of slipping their way off of the team.

Things were a bit loose this week as we recapped/vented about the exciting, yet controversial win at Winged Foot by one Mr. Bryson DeChambeau. Love him or hate him, Bryson is changing the game before our eyes and certainly will be a main topic of discussion moving forward. We talk about what he did to get his first major victory and also talk about some other notables in the field, including DJ, John Rahm, Rory, an impressive showing by Canadian Taylor Pendrith, and a hard-to-believe 6-putt from Danny Lee.

Special treat this week as we are joined this episode by Boyd Mickle (aka @trunkslammer1) to help provide a firsthand account of Winged Foot as we preview the 120th US Open. As usual, we talk about all of the intricacies of the historic course, what can be expected in terms of setup (spoiler: some of the toughest greens you’ll see), and make our picks from the stacked field.

After taking the week off we have lots to get to this week as we recap the official end to the 2019-20 PGA TOUR season, the Tour Championship. While we talk a fair amount about DJ’s big win and debate the merits of the somewhat controversial format, we also take a deep dive into the great year that Mackenzie Hughes had and discuss the significance of even qualifying for the final event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

We also spend some time previewing the upcoming ANA Inspiration, the second major of the year on the LPGA Tour schedule. While it’s usually played in early spring, this year’s iteration of the event will bring unprecedented heat and some tough conditions that will prove to be a great challenge for the world’s elite golfers.

But before all of that, we also talk about John’s recent opportunity to volunteer as the starter at the third event of the Mackenzie Tour’s Canada Life Series at TPC Toronto.
