  • Whoop's Impact on the PGA Tour *PLUS* AIG Women's Open, FedEx Cup Playoffs Preview (RG50)

This week Ready Golf is pleased to reach the half-century milestone as we release our 50th episode! And to celebrate, we’ve got a jam-packed episode for you.

First, we dive into a preview of the first major on the LPGA schedule, the AIG Women’s Open, hosted at the historic Royal Troon. We break down the course and some of its iconic holes, talk about the field and some of the groups we’ll be keeping a close eye on, as well as discuss what we can expect to see at this iconic Scottish links course.

Then, John and Eric sit down for an interview with AJ Baker, Performance Marketing Manager from Whoop. After the wearable fitness tracking technology was able to flag some early COVID-19 symptoms in Nick Watney, Whoop has been widely adopted across the Tour to help players better manage and track what is going on in their bodies. AJ helps breakdown what it is that Whoop has to offer and how it can benefit your everyday life, from the high-performance athlete, to the weekend warrior with a 9-5 desk job. To learn more, check out whoop.com and give them a follow on Instagram (@whoop).

Finally, as the shortened PGA Tour season comes to a close, we preview the upcoming FedEx Cup Playoffs, going into details about the format and some changes to expect this year, as well as discussing some key players and story lines we’ll be watching. We then close things out with our picks for the first event: The Northern Trust.

Finally, if you haven’t already done so, check out our Instagram account (@readygolfpod) and enter for your chance to win a prize pack in partnership with Town Brewery.

Lots going on this week, so thanks for your ongoing support. Looking forward to bringing you the next 50!

  • PGA Championship Preview - Live from Town Brewery! (RG48)

This week we are very excited to bring to you our first major preview of the year as we talk all about the PGA Championship, which is set to begin this week at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California. We talk about the course, some key players we’ll be watching as well as make our picks for who will bring home the historic Wanamaker Trophy.

Before doing so, we also preview the LPGA Tour season, which was just resuming as we recorded this episode. We get into some of the tournaments and changes to the schedule you can expect to see this year, as well as catch up on where some of the Canadian stars sit.

Even more exciting than any of that, we are pleased to introduce a brand new segment to the show: The 19th Hole. This segment aims to dive into some of the culture that is often associated with golf, specifically beer. In this debut episode, we sit down with Curtis, the resident golf expert from Town Brewery to talk all about the burgeoning young craft brewery right in our backyard here in Whitby, Ontario. We talk a bit about Town’s story, its involvement in the local the community and also get into some beer and course “pairings,” from their staples like Square Wheels, to the limited run one-offs, like Absolute Unit or the appropriately named Worm Burner.

You can check out Town on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to stay on top of their current offerings and to ensure you don’t miss out on any of their limited releases. You can also place an order directly from their website at townbrewery.ca, or better yet, drop in to their bottle shop next time you’re in Durham and say hi!

  • Club Fitting 101: Drivers (RG42)

This week we are happy to bring back on the pod, Ryan Goodridge, Senior Club Fitting Analyst at the Titleist National Fitting Centre. Before talking to Ryan we also recap an exciting first week back for the PGA and review the Charles Schwabb Challenge. We cover Daniel Berger’s win, some flashes of brilliance from Collin Morikawa, the new bulked-up Bryson, if there’s reason to be optimistic about Spieth, and many other highlights.
