Real Church

"Good" - meaning morally upright.

Here are a few highlights of our Good Shepherd, Jesus...

He has a reward with Him.

He has a work before Him.

He feeds us.

He gathers us.

He carries us.

He leads us.

We, as the sheep following Jesus, have a discerning ear and an obedient heart.

Jesus' reward for us in abundant life, and His desire is that His work become our work here on earth.

John 14:12 says "He that believers on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

It's so easy to opt for what's easy and convenient for what God ultimately wants for us.

You wouldn't be able to survive on a diet of milk and donuts...

God's trying to lead us to green pastures while we're drowning in a bowl of Lucky Charms...

He's trying to lead us to living water while we're sipping on Coca Cola!

The children of Israel were content with the garlic and onions of Egypts, but God was trying to lead them to a place where He would provide manna from Heaven that contained everything they needed to sustain them.

In order to move forward into the things of God, we have to leave some things behind...

Are you willing to trade your "stuff" for the good God has in store for you?

Let this week's message challenge you to let some things go and move forward in the things of God!

It's one thing to pray a prayer asking God to forgive you of your sins.

It's a completely different thing to repent of those sins.

Repent is to turn away. To walk in the opposite direction of.

The only way we can be in true relationship with God is to ask for forgiveness of our sins AND to repent from them!

With the help of the Holy Spirit of God we can walk "washed" in the Blood of Jesus, and walk in a new direction!

Knowing God is so much more than reading a scripture a day and saying a prayer before bed. The book of Ezekiel actually tells a story of God calling us to go to deeper levels... Ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep .... further and further until we've completely lost ourselves in God.

If you have questions about God, or just have a deep "knowing" that there's got to be more... deeper understanding, deeper intimacy in your relationship with your Creator, then today's message is for you!

Rivers.

They're not stagnant. They're constantly moving and full of life!

It's so easy to allow sin, and the things of the world to get on us and make us "dirty"...

We need times of refreshing, and we need the river of God to flow over us and clean us.

This week's message will challenge you to step into the River of Life and be cleansed and refreshed!

What is the greatest question in the Bible?

We'll get back to that in a second.

Have you ever told someone you were in a romantic relationship with you loved them?

"I love you".

When you say it for the first time you say it as a statement...

But... It's really a question.

I love you. Do you love me?

The greatest question in the Bible is from God. "I love you. I sent my only begotten son to die in your place for the forgiveness of your sins... I love you. Do you love me?"

The Season of Teshuva is a from the Hebrew calendar and it marks the beginning of a turning back to God... of repentance.

Our prayer is that this message is a challenge and encouragement to to return to God.

God loves you. Do you love Him?

Fire.

Fire has a purpose.

The fire of God also has incredible purpose in our lives.

It ignites us. Scripture tells us we shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon us.

It tempers us. Temper simply means: having temper, moderated or modified, hardened as a metal, tuned according to some temperament, a musical term.

It inflames us. The Fire of God inflames our passion for Him.

What does that look like in the life of the believer? Howe do you receive the fire of God in your life?

May today's message stir you to wanting more of the fire of God in your life!
