The Israelites had suffered a defeat at the hands of their enemies. Instead of seeking God's presence and the reason for their defeat, they tried to fake His presence by bringing the Ark into their camp as a good luck charm. The second defeat is even greater than the first. God's presence isn't found in objects but in our obedience - it's there that He comes to our rescue.

Sin, no matter what you call it or in what quantity it exists always hurts you and harms your relationship with God. Getting rid of sin in your life is a difficult struggle though, that's why God has given us Holy Spirit to help us recognize sin, repent of sin and eradicate it from our lives.

Like the Nation of Israel transitioning from Judges to a King our own nation is in a transition. A transition of personality with a different kind of president, a transition of power happening every couple years. And now a transition of ideas as more and more in the political mainstream push for socialism. As We The People look to our leaders God is looking for a person. A person who will seek Him, who will hear Him, who will obey Him and who will lead others to Him. And all of that could start with YOU.
